All clubbed together
An orangey – aromatic chypre, which - having a floral heart - has a dandified feel, but it never rises above ‘… this smells like … Moustache? … New York? Beau Brummel’s cravat?’ … i.e. generic.
Then it dries down – quite soon – to a musky orange, with an
(admittedly) excellent old musk, but barely more than that in the
afterglow.

It’s interesting to see how orangey notes were handled in the days before 1 Million et al, but other than that, this is probably too Old School to be worn as a regular frag. (Whatever that might be…)

The Time Machine.
Ricci Club, not firmly established in my fairly good visual memory, but upon spraying it comes to life immediately, it seemed like half of Fuzo was wearing it back then.
And rightly so. The spiced sweetness, combined with appropriate finesse and delicacy, never clumsy or a building block for dominance, everything rounded, finely spiced.
For me, there could be more punch behind it, but by now, one is also satisfied with less.
Ricci Club, a fragrance whose name and concept are coherent, slowly I turn my club chair towards the poolside, sinking into the sunset, enjoying the light smoky note.
If it had been given more power back then, it would surely have become one of my 90%ers that would be really hard to displace from this position.

Anyone who loves the old school Etruscan / Tuscanny should get a (still) affordable mini now, and I mean now, not in 6 months...

Balanced, unobtrusive, and cleanly composed
When it comes to men's fragrances from Nina Ricci, the comments here are really sparse. Strange, actually, because in my memory, the brand wasn't so unknown in the 80s...

"Ricci Club" is a reserved type from the rather floral genre with a classically structured fragrance pyramid. Floral, fresh, fruity, natural, and devoid of any intrusive sweetness. A type of scent that always represented the counterpoint to the "powerhouses" like "Antaeus" in the 80s.

In terms of character, I find it quite comparable to the first men's fragrance from Cerruti, "Nino Cerruti pour Homme," although with less punch and not the same degree of sophistication. I also detect similarities to some classic fragrances from Aramis, such as "Tuscany." By this, I don't necessarily mean olfactory comparability, but rather the relaxed and unexcited mood that these fragrances share.

Regarding availability, what I have already noted about numerous other fragrances from this era holds true: Try to acquire a mini at a reasonable price. The full bottles are then priced in the usual range for rarities (around EUR 70/50 ml).

Great, great, great...
A very nice men's fragrance. Despite the many flowers, there is a green-fresh top note that then smoothly transitions into a warm-woody-fresh variant. Delicious!

Another old schooler that delights
starts with a hint of toilet cleaner vibes, but in the dry down, it becomes wonderfully floral
with a dry sweetness.

80s aldehydes that I love, but not a monster.

It could also be from Bois 1920. Floral and pleasantly resinous. Sushi Imperiale says hello. Amazingly good in summer heat.

Spiced flowers on a bed of cinnamon. A confident, pleasantly enjoyable companion with a rich sillage and decent longevity.
