Sleep Scent

I got this fragrance through a trade in the souk. The bergamot, grapefruit, and orange in the top notes really appealed to me, and I was thrilled when the lovely piece arrived at my place. By the way, this is my 2nd niche fragrance. The scent itself is great, and later on, the pepper is also nicely detectable, but unfortunately, it doesn’t last on my skin or on clothing. I will use it as a sleep scent; I find it beautifully soft and not too loud for that purpose.
The bottle and packaging are great and high-quality, with a heavy, solid stopper.

Unwinding

.. everyone knows the feeling. You come home dead tired from work or a trip.
The energy long spent, and you feel a powerful pressure pulling your body down and not letting up.
There's a tugging in your neck, your eyes weary from what they've been focused on all day.
Your ears ringing from the harsh and pointless noise they've been exposed to.
Your heart barely beating, yet you feel like it could jump out of your body at any moment.
Thoughts sent away to a deserted island where nothing penetrates.
You drift in a daze and ultimately lose yourself.

And then there are moments, even when you're tense and just want to collapse into bed, that bring a slight touch of exuberance.

Sea of Light is such a fragrance. It comes across as subtly floral and is lightly tinged with musk. White sheets twisting in the air. A quiet sea lying at your feet, not moving even once. Freshness is present - lightly at the edges and not too strong. However, discomfort soon fills the space. Citrusy notes piercing through the fragrance. Meadows full of lily of the valley everywhere, but they don't come off as overwhelming; instead, they present themselves delicately, with a lovely, soft tone of subtle peach hanging in the scent. As if it had pulled out a hammock.

A beautiful scent to unwind. It brings the pulse back to normal levels, and you feel fresh and liberated from the grime of everyday life. It gives me a very solid and extremely simple impression. There aren't many leaps here, and the fragrance quickly reaches a point where it doesn't want or can't develop further. It is exceptionally good for unwinding when you want to engage with soft and clean scents for a few moments. The previous paragraph has already wrapped everything up nicely. There’s not much more to it.

For a fragrance that isn't exactly a bargain, it is, however, significantly too weak for me. Don't get me wrong - I enjoy the moment when I apply it, and my tensions mentally dissolve. My body also rests within itself, and my senses are uplifted by little angels. But this moment quickly fades, leaving only a haze behind, which I find very unfortunate. It doesn't even last four hours, and the sillage is incredibly shy.

All in all, a solid fragrance that also comes across as quality-wise, considering the interplay of the components. But more volume would certainly not have hurt it. As it stands, it remains slightly above average and will likely soon be forgotten. Once my sample is gone..

Good-Mood Drops

At first, when I sprayed the sample of "Un Jardin sur le Nil," I thought of a scent that is also heavily grapefruit-based, which I love very much. But no, this one is different. But now I’ve got it! It’s those yellow fizzy "Good-Mood Drops" that you often receive as a bonus in a well-known candy store. Citrusy, fruity, fresh, and a little fizzy, that’s exactly how "Sea of Light" comes across to me in the initial phase. I don’t recognize any lily of the valley at all. After the strong grapefruit opening, the scent transitions from citrusy to more fruity and becomes sweeter and milder, but on me, it’s at most minimally floral.

A good-mood scent for summer! However, I already have quite a few in that direction on my shelves, so it’s not a "must-have" for me.
