Pretty unspectacular...

...that's how you could describe "Milky Musk/39". That's what it really is and that may sound negative for some, but I like it very much just because of that. Whole two fragrance notes gives the pyramid, sandalwood and musk, and probably lets the one or the other Parfumo only tired yawn.

In the top note, I am surprised by a very authentic, dry cedar wood, with which I did not expect, but which I like. This also comes about at least something like a scent progression, because after a while, the fragrance becomes increasingly creamy and it develops a quite wonderful sandalwood. This lasts on me for several hours unchanged until the musk base then shows itself. This is also present again for several hours, fluffy, almost a little powdery and with a very slightly metallic, but not unpleasant note.
Amazingly durable it is on me with a good twelve hours, with initially medium, towards the end rather skin sillage. Citrus notes, spices, flowers or fruits you look in vain here and who wants complex pyramids or fragrances with the special twist, is also wrong here. So why do I like this unspectacular "threesome" of base notes so much then? There are days when I need just such a fragrance. One that envelops me and doesn't distract, without excitement or surprises. Then I love its clear course, its predictability and its straightforwardness.
I don't find the name quite as aptly chosen, as I don't find it milky at any point. Also, for me, sandalwood rather than musk is the main protagonist of the fragrance, but that's just on the side. I think it's great and it could well be that "Milky Musk/39" may move in with me at some point.
