White iris, white, clean scent.
A small souvenir store in the my area was going out of business and was selling their merchandise at tremendous discount. On one of the shelves I saw some cologne bottles by Bronnley and gave them a try. Among them there was the White Iris and I was impressed by this simple treasure . A pure iris, sweet and bright on a bed of musk . No great, sofisticated composition, no drums and trumpets, just the chiming of clean iris bells.
Everything seemed so white and calm when I wore that cologne.

Jane Eyre
Bronnley.
That sounds a bit like the Brontë sisters, like Emily, Charlotte, and "Wuthering Heights," like Victorian, dusty England with its gloomy, strict gray, center-parted, the dresses raven black.
It sounds like scents that one does not want to smell like, not as a child of today's time.
So I thought in the first contact, and I still thought so when "White Iris" came to me, which is surely younger than "Jane Eyre," even if one cannot know for sure.

White is "White Iris," very white - but not piercingly white and radiant, not a direct look into the sunlight, not harsh, sterile, and strict like the protocol at court once was.
Bright and clear like a young morning, the air still cool and silky from the not very long night - dew pearls in the grasses, on the feet that stand in the blades, naked and bare, just escaped from the land of slumber.
A light mist hovers over grass and green, tingling in the hairs on the arms, raising them, dispelling the tiredness.
Somewhere in the tree hang oranges, deep golden ripe in dense, dark green - no sweet-sour, no juice, no orange jam, just firm fruit, the skin slightly bruised.
A hint of metal - perhaps the knife still, the blade silver-bright and so very sharp.
Or are they the flowers, the blue, long, yellow-flamed ones, standing tall like little spears in the dark bed?
Moments later - velvety clean skin, soaped, creamed, a hint of powder here and there.
I think of orange cream - not for the tongue, for the skin, finely porous light, like butterfly wings of lemon.
Very fine, very feminine, very bright, very pure.
Center-parted - that may be true.
But perhaps "Jane Eyre" is not so far from our time after all?

Heavenly World in a Bottle
White Iris has a certain something that really appeals to me. This is yet another fragrance that brings a small smile to my face. While the scent direction is not one of my favorites, if it’s going to be floral, then please like this!

What certainly confuses the informed Parfumo user is the absence of iris in the pyramid, as it gives the fragrance its name. But I believe it wasn't simply forgotten; rather, it is - if at all - only present in a very small dose. Nevertheless, the fragrance displays a very pleasant, almost creamy powderiness, which I would attribute more to the immortelle, or straw flower. At first, I couldn't imagine what Jonquille was, but thank goodness I now know that it hides daffodils.

Once again, I appreciate that the perfume comes without "obtrusive" notes. Visually, I see White Iris as a delicate, cream-colored transparent veil.

In summary, I would describe White Iris as bright, friendly, powdery, and softly floral. For me, it’s a perfume for a sunny, cozy Sunday afternoon at home.

When I read Iris, I perk up and get excited. I have to test as many iris scents as I can get my hands on.

But with White Iris...
Unfortunately, I can't fully agree with Turandot here.
It's floral, it's powdery, it has a certain creaminess, so far, so good.
But unfortunately, this scent smells cheap. There’s a rather nasty note in it that makes it smell dull and slightly musty.
If it's the straw flower again, then I hate it. I've already torn apart a fragrance that had straw flower in it. Somehow I just can't deal with it.

I don't want to say that White Iris is bad, yes, I can even smell the nonexistent iris.*gg* At least there is this slightly dry, iris-heavy powderiness. So it does go in the direction of typical iris scents.
Still, I don't like the composition here.
But I am pleased that I don't want to have this fragrance.

Beautiful Soap
A scent that reminds one of beautiful English-style soap, slightly floral but not too sweet, quite "retro." The color "White" fits this perfume, "White Iris" indeed, not dark purple like irises often appear, but clean and pure like fresh laundry hanging on the line in an English spring garden. In the drydown, you can smell the white iris mixed with light musky notes that are also often used in detergents. The packaging and bottle are typically English-nostalgic, so an "added bonus."

Floral, soapy with a drydown that has a very laundry-musk clean vibe. Quite nice, but a bit too earnest.
