Powdery Old Roses
I bought a Who is Elijah sample set and was putting off testing out this fragrance since rose fragrances are usually a miss for me. It’s not as bad or scary as I thought. Rebel Rose is a vintage style feminine fragrance at first, and its more masculine elements make themselves known over time. Although, not every masculine note is apparent, the patchouli and leather are very obvious.
Besides the dark masculine notes, the rose is front and center. It’s not a fresh rose though, rather one that has been sitting in a vase too long and is starting to wilt. Some petals have dried and fallen off, creating a powdery texture as well. This will sound very corny, but if the emoji had a smell, it would be this.
This fragrance isn’t very strong and doesn’t last very long, and I think that’s to its benefit. If it were stronger, it would be undeniably nauseating.
