Mango with tropical touch

It is a fragrance that feels very tropical from the beginning.
The handle unfolds quite strongly, although, like a fan, as the rods lower, an undeclared coconut appears, which at the same time aerates that tropical touch, which on my skin, as the minutes go by, intensifies. . .

The top reminds me of the Alien Mugler goddess, perhaps because of the coconut note that I perceive in common and because of the vanilla. However, in the dry down, both fragrances take totally different paths.

Vanilla immediately takes center stage, accompanying the floral notes of jasmine and finally that vanilla lands on a creamy sandalwood base.

In general, it is a perfume that does not keep many secrets, its notes are basically clearly distinguished.

As for the bottle, well, for tastes, colors…

Its sillage is notable and on my skin, with a somewhat difficult pH, it behaves quite well, lasting 6 hours.

A friendly robot for summertime

Even though some find the bottles of Fame (and Phantom) kitschy and childish, I got to admit I love them. I always had a soft spot for cute little robots. Unfortunately I really dislike Phantom, I find it harsh and scratchy and would never want my husband to wear it, much less wear it myself. So I hoped the female robot would be better.

And it is! Not good enough to justify getting a bottle, but it's a pleasant scent. The mango note is nicely done. Sometimes I find mango in fragrances too sour on my skin, but here the vanilla adds enough sweetness to keep it from going that way. It's nice and creamy, like a vanilla-mango mousse served under tropical flowers. I don't think that this smells specifically like jasmine, which is the only floral in the official notes, it's more of a general white floral scent.
After a while it gets a bit boring. The jasmine takes a turn into fabric softener territory, the rest stays as it is. I wish they used a more noticeable incense note and maybe a tad more vanilla, that would add interest and warmth to the scent.

Ultimately there are better creamy mango fragrances. I like Zadig & Voltaire Art 4 All and Lattafa Yara Tous. Both don't come in cute bottles, but they're affordable, less soapy and also have great juicy mango notes.

Fame that is long since gone

Well I'm particularly displeased about this perfume. I was expecting a better, more well-blended fragrance made of mango and woods and instead I'm met with this generic perfume. I can't believe 4 perfumers were on this brief and all they came up with was this. I'm happy I got a sampler, because it won't be making it past this stage.

All in all, it's a pretty inoffensive fruity mango perfume. Mango stays for the first hour, sweet, sugary, juicy, but marred by a weird almost sour powdery (because of the jasmine?) note. I'm not sure if it's my skin or how the notes were blended, but it's just weird. It ends up becoming this non-descript fruity and woody perfume that fades quite rapidly into nothing. If you happen to come upon this perfume, I suggest you layer it with other mango scented body products like Isle of Paradise (yellow line of products) to amp up the mango part of the scent or tropical scented body products like Ouai St-Barts to amp up the summery beach vibe. On its own it does pretty poorly, which is sad considering the fact it's a designer fragrance.

Bottle doesn't bother me contrarily to other people, although I would like to know why they decided to choose a robot for a mango scent. It's a bit odd.

Famous for what??

I am not even going to start with the hideous bottle, but i just cannot get over the fact that there were 4 noses behind of creation of this very much mediocre fragrance! I tried it first about a month ago and also got myself a nice decant, so i have given it a proper wear test. To be honest - i am not impressed by this fragrance: smells like a soft fruity artificial vanilla cream, nothkng more. Not complex, nothing outstanding at all. They could at least make it more special because of all this pre-release hype and bottle. But no, i do not even have much to write about, that bland and unimpressive the scent itself is. It somehow reminds me of a weaker version of Escada's "Candy love", but more fruity. Projection is very weak and sits close to skin and after about an hour i cannot smell almost anything.
If i would be presented this scent in a vial without bottle or name i would not even be bothered with it and would say it is something from the supermarket, like La Rive fragrance (which has many nice scents). Not worth the money and not worth the hype. Just my honest opinion

Fruity woodsy

This fragrance is pretty blasé for me. I don't hate it, but it doesn't stick in my mind like so many others have.

It's fruity and creamy. You can definitely smell the mango. But the dry down is very different. The woodsy base really comes out at the end. I almost love it more after some time.

I think it's a fairly safe blind buy for people who like fruity department store fragrances. The bottle is also fun! I think it's a good summer signature scent.
