Great Alternative to JPG Le Male Elixir
This great fragrance from the Hawas line has not yet received a review, so I will change that now. For a long time, things have been a bit quiet around the line, but now releases are coming in rapid succession. I like this line around the well-known original "Hawas for Him | Rasasi / الرصاصي". Of course, the newer flankers, including Hawas Ice, bear little resemblance to the original and are already dupe scents. Primarily more designer fragrances, but they are really well made and worth it if you want an alternative for about 1/3 of the price. With this Elixir, you find an alternative to the namesake Le Mâle Elixir. A fragrance DNA that particularly shines now as autumn begins, bringing cozy vibes. This has to compete with "The Kingdom for Men / المملكة | Lattafa / لطافة" from Lattafa, which is a bit more talked about. I haven't tested that one yet, but it is surely good as well. Besides this Hawas Elixir, I also have the original JPG. I wore it a lot when it first hit the market. Here’s a look at the scent to see if it’s a good alternative.
In terms of price, this fragrance is now under €30, which is quite fair for this scent. Along with the name Elixir, the golden color was chosen like the original. The bottles in this line are quite good and feel robust. The fragrances come in standard boxes, which I appreciate as they are easy to dispose of.
Of course, I can compare these two quite well since I own both and can spray them in parallel. It is definitely very close to the original, and this Hawas is worth it if you want an alternative to it. The fact that this is ranked significantly lower than the Kingdom from Lattafa likely has to do with the fact that significantly fewer people have tested it. The first minutes of Hawas Elixir are a bit overpowering and slightly piercing, but this settles down after a few minutes, and the mint note comes through nicely. Here, this mint also brings a wonderful sensual underlying freshness that is great for transitional wear. Additionally, there is a slight citrus freshness that, however, is overshadowed by gourmand sweetness. A gentle lavender note is, of course, present, which must not be missing in such a Le Male flanker. This is also present here and has a slightly metallic vibe. There are not many significant differences, but the Hawas Elixir does seem a bit more gourmand to me. This could also be due to the dark chocolate present here. While it is not in the foreground, this warm gourmand note integrates well. The vanilla-tonka combination is more prominent, just like in the original. Musk and benzoin also contribute to soft and cozy vibes that round it off nicely. Overall, a great flanker that does an excellent job as a JPG Elixir dupe. I can recommend it, even though the JPG is also available for a smaller amount of money.
The performance of this Hawas is once again fantastic. Specifically, this strong sillage is worth highlighting. Longevity should also be around 10+ hours. Perfect for everyday wear if you like cozy sweet fragrances. It also works quite well in the evening.
Even if you don’t save as much compared to JPG Le Male Elixir: This Hawas is worth it. Great scent, strong performance, and everything is good here. 100ml for under €30 is a great price.
