Larvotto
My First Rue Broca, never tried Tuxedo but this is Spot on fragrance, love the scent profile and the way it performs.

Now that people say it’s a 90% close clone I’d wish to see Rue Broca trying to make Santal33 clone, I love that shit but never paying almost 300€ for a fragrance, we know how much it costs to make approximately and that doesn’t even perform that well.

The "borrowed" tuxedo for under 20 euros fits perfectly in Monaco! :-)
Yes, this fragrance is said to be a clone of "Le Vestiaire - Tuxedo | Yves Saint Laurent", just like Turathi (Brown) and Moustache Eau de Parfum. However, it is the only one that has the same ingredients as the original and should therefore be somewhat worthy as a supposed "twin brother". The problem for me in comparison: I do not know the extremely expensive Tuxedo and have never had a sample of it on hand. So I am focusing entirely on Penthouse Larvotto, which I purchased for an astonishing 18.60 euros.

Spicy-sweet describes it very well as stated. After a quickly fleeting alcoholic opening, the fragrance unfolds its qualities very linearly. I can hardly pick out individual components here, but a vanilla base sweetness forms the foundation of a masculine herbal blend, which receives a zesty yet never sharp note from bergamot and pepper. As it develops further, the floral notes of rose and lily of the valley add grace and elegance.

The nice thing about it: Even though Tuxedo (as with YSL) means tuxedo, I do not necessarily think of a posh evening gathering when it comes to Penthouse Larvotto. Larvotto is likely a district in Monaco on the Côte d’Azur. The rich and beautiful probably live here too, especially in the penthouse, but they are welcome to wear this fragrance for any occasion and, for all I care, in any season.

Everything is quite refined with Penthouse Larvotto, and I mean that positively. We are dealing with a long-lasting masculine charmer that, due to its class, does not need to push itself to the forefront with outstretched elbows, as its finely balanced base DNA cannot be compared to any other I know.

I can recommend this budget perfume as a blind buy for anyone who wants to surround themselves with an elegant and multifaceted fragrance aura for all possible occasions.

A Beautiful Time in the Penthouse
First of all:
- The biggest advantage of this review is that I have never smelled YSL Tuxedo / Moustache.
- The biggest disadvantage of this review is that I have never smelled YSL Tuxedo / Moustache.
Therefore, I have no comparison to determine whether this fragrance is a good or bad clone of Tuxedo, but this gives Penthouse a fair chance to be analyzed by me without bias. Without reference to the original, I want to describe whether purchasing this fragrance is worthwhile.

Fragrance development:
The scent starts off quite spicy and fresh; I definitely perceive bergamot, coriander, and black pepper. I also have the feeling that mandarin has been used, even though it is not listed in the fragrance pyramid. However, this freshness from the bergamot does not last long, and the rose becomes more significant and dominant. Some statements claim that they do not perceive rose. I cannot quite understand that, as I definitely smell it. I also find that the rose plays a role throughout the entire fragrance development and gives the scent a certain uniqueness. Towards the end of the fragrance development, the scent is, in my opinion, strongly dominated by amber, some rose, and vanilla, but especially by amber. If one generally cannot appreciate amber, this fragrance is not recommended, as it becomes quite sweet/spicy towards the end.

Fragrance:
I really own a lot of different fragrances in my collection, yet I must admit that I was very surprised by this scent. It smells really different from my usual fragrances and also different from those I have tested so far. The rose, as mentioned before, gives this fragrance a certain uniqueness. However, it is also important to mention that this fragrance does not smell masculine at all. It is truly a unisex fragrance from start to finish, if not slightly more suitable for women than for men. The rose combined with the spicy notes smells overall floral/spicy, and later the sweetness from amber and vanilla comes through. But that does not mean that men should not wear this fragrance. So when should one wear this perfume? As a guideline, I would recommend wearing this perfume when it is not hotter than 10-15 degrees; anything below that is better for this scent. In too much heat, the sweetness of the fragrance comes very much to the forefront, and it can be quite annoying for oneself and for those around.

Longevity/Sillage:
The longevity is really very good! I would estimate it at around 10 hours. The sillage is also quite good. People were still able to perceive the scent well 3-4 hours after application. So, in this category, one can definitely not complain.

Bottle/Price:
Now to the bad part :D The bottle. The bottle is really just (in my opinion) absolutely ugly. I do not understand why this design was chosen. A simple glass bottle would have worked much better. Because as it is, the bottle just looks ugly and cheap, which is a shame because the fragrance itself smells really good and expensive.
The price of the fragrance at 15-25€ is truly a bargain and absolutely worth the price!!

Conclusion:
Really a very well-made, affordable unisex fragrance with good longevity, especially for the colder days. I definitely recommend purchasing it!

A festive ballroom....
.....or the junction in the middle between serious opulence and slightly kitschy pomp!
I have reached a kind of olfactory boundary that distinguishes extraordinary fragrances from "niche" and affordable prices! Without a doubt, I have before me a very unusual, even "niche" perfume with "Penthouse Larvotto," which is also available at a very low price. How does that fit together, when similar scent concepts from other (possibly more well-known) manufacturers can easily cost ten times as much? I am no expert on this, but I can imagine that very well-made "synthetic" fragrance materials are used here, which hardly fall short of the "natural" in presence and scent quality, but are significantly cheaper to obtain or produce.
The scent itself is very lush, equipped with noticeably high-quality ingredients, and somehow reminds me of a richly decorated ballroom. Like crystal chandeliers in green (herbs, citrus notes, and violet root/leaf) in shades of red (flowers, several warm spices) and many decorations in dark velvet (woods, amber, patchouli) and cream to honey-orange brocade (vanilla, balsams). Everything looks very serious. Yet it has a subtle tendency towards slightly kitschy pomp. But it is not easy for an untrained eye (or in this case, the nose) to recognize that. One must investigate certain areas behind the "scenes" to distinguish "real gems" from "trinkets." I manage this very vaguely, as the well-lasting and equally radiating scent has many elements that I enjoy sniffing! Hardly anyone else wears it, making it a kind of unique piece. And I also don't want to dissect it down to the last molecule, because as a whole, it is of great class! And a bit of "kitsch" is a good measure of olfactory creativity. And here, NOT exaggerated :-))

I keep buying this fragrance!
I have fallen in love with the scent and just ordered a second bottle.
It smells so incredibly delicious, somehow strongly spicy sweet, somewhat reminiscent of Jägermeister but different, with mandarin peel and grapefruit peel, along with cinnamon, pepper, and cloves.

.....it's not easy to describe, but the fragrance is truly delightful.

On me I get 6-7 hours and the dry down is heaven. Settles to a clean, sweet spice. If you want compliments this is the one. Huge fan.

Starts off sweet and musty. Transitions to spicy and wraps itself in patchouli. No overpowering sillage. Great price/quality
I don't smell any rose. Beautiful dry down!

Unfortunate bottle, but the content is noble. With 8 hours of longevity and good sillage, you always leave the impression of a friendly gentleman.

Tuxedo is refined and rounded. Larvotto is consistently "sharper", spicier, even a bit piercing at first. The drydown is delicious. H/S is great, P/L very good.
