I am (re)discovering the Charlie fragrances and found that I like Gold best, followed by Blue and Red. I also think they are all well made and are ignored too much.
The Charlie price-quality-value ratio is amazing and they are all complex.
I also like that there is a Charlie scent for almost every taste.

For less that $10 AUD this is a great everyday scent. It's fresh and clean with a tiny bit of sweetness that makes it more feminine than unisex. I personally dont smell any distinctive fruit but that's ok. The initial spray is very hairspray fizzy but that dries down quickly to a mild fresh crisp scent that is inoffensive. An easy office scent or bedtime scent. It's not strong enough or unique enough for special occasions but for the price you can bath in this and know that you are smelling fresh and clean.

I recently discovered Charlie White at Müller. I'm currently tired of typical winter scents despite the cold. And I wasn't familiar with CW, so I went for the tester. A fresh bouquet of flowers wafted around my nose. I thought of freesias, a huge white-green bouquet. I love the scent of freesias and similar white flowers. At just under €5, I didn't feel like waiting for the fragrance to develop; if it turned out to be a bad purchase, it would just go into the swap game - I thought.

First of all: It can definitely stay in my collection; there's no talk of a bad purchase here. I just don't read freesias in the aforementioned fragrance pyramid, but violets. Hm, violets... maybe more violet leaves? They smell similarly juicy-fresh-green. In my opinion, violets smell different, more powdery. I can't detect any peach either. On me, the scent is not fruity, but bright green and becomes woodier over time. With the listed fragrance notes, I can't relate to anything except for the cedarwood. I would have expected something floral-fruity, slightly aquatic due to the watermelon. Also, rose in the base, combined with vanilla and cedarwood, seems a bit strange to me. For me, the base is woody, with a light vanilla tone giving the balsamic cedarwood some additional warmth. Fresh enough for noses that long for floral-fresh scents, but warm enough not to freeze.

Overall, the scent is beautifully light and absolutely unobtrusive. I don't know the old version, only the current one. And overall, I really like it. The longevity on the skin is about 4 hours, while on clothing, the scent lasts until the next day.

I made another shopping trip to the local branch of the Dutch company Aktion. Besides all the items that make waiting for Christmas easier on the wallet, you usually find brand fragrances at more than reasonable prices around the pre-Christmas season, Easter, or Mother's Day. For example, Arden, Vanderbild, Maroussia, or in this case, Charlie. Alongside Red and Blue, this time it’s White and Gold (coming later) for 3.99 euros for 100ml. There was no tester included, and for that price, both fragrances went into the shopping cart along with the stars and co. These are original products and by no means knock-offs.

Now, I must say upfront, this fragrance is 100% a summer scent for me. It can also be worn in spring or autumn, but definitely not in winter. It’s too light and fresh for that. I smelled wonderful things, but not those listed as fragrance notes above. The opening for me is citrusy and a bit herbal. It could be rosemary and a little thyme. It immediately brings to mind heat and an herb garden. Then it becomes floral for me, but due to the bitter opening, it’s not overly sweet, rather very harmonious. The dry down is velvety, bitter, yet fresh with a hint of floral from cedarwood. The longevity on my skin is about 5 hours, and after that, it’s still detectable for a long time.

Outside, it’s unpleasantly cold and wet, and this fragrance makes you dream of summer. A scent that is not intrusive, but also not flat. You can’t go wrong with it, yet it’s still extraordinary.

I acquired this perfume in the mid-90s. It was my favorite from the Charlie series at that time. Floral-fresh with a fruity note that reminded me more of a winter fruit salad than summer fruits. The bottle in milky white glass and the scent always made me think of freshly peeled apples, even though no apple note is listed. When it is still winter on the calendar, but the first spring flowers are already visible, that was the time for CW.
Recently, I bought a new bottle, a large one made of clear glass, very affordable. But it no longer has the intensity of back then! The scent feels "diluted" to me! Is it due to my now spoiled nose from Parfumo or are even fragrances in this price category being reformulated? After I generously sprayed myself earlier, I could still catch a pleasant fruity freshness while walking to the post office. So it hasn't completely changed, just a bit faded.
I would have given the old version an 8.5, the new one only gets a 7.5 from me.

I can't help myself! I got a (30ml) bottle in milk glass over the internet. It arrived today, yes, this is the old, stronger version! So it still exists! But you can tell that this specimen is already a bit aged...
