Meditative but just okay
Has a very herbal opening with a tart fuji apple and fresh juniper berries. As it develops you get a very strong ambery accord with very prominent hinoki woods. It’s resinous, and warm, but still very fresh and green. This feels like the contrast of a vibrant monkey swinging through the trees, the fruit it just ripped from above the tree branches in one hand, the fresh leaves grazing its fur as it swings past. The dry down is a mossy and creamy sandalwood with more herbal accords. The monkey has come down from the trees now, sweetly relaxed as a warm breeze passes through the jungle. There’s still mild remnants of apple and strong hinoki even in the dry down. This one is nice, it’s a homely scent even, comforting and enjoyable.

The Journey to the West - When Myths Shape a Fragrance
The Journey to the West.

Monks traveled from China to India
and 16 years later we learned that the journey was shaped
by myths and mysticism.

Deep in the forests, a mist arose that came out of nowhere.
Incense characterizes the journey.

Between the branches, everywhere one looked
the forest was marked by the habitat of the macaques.

The deeper one went, the more moss-covered the surroundings became,
temples that could only be guessed at,
Who could have built these?

To appease the gods, offerings lay at the Hinoki false cypress trees,
incense sticks, fresh red apples, and juniper berries,
as if they had been placed there not too long ago.

The macaques moved through the mist behind,
but never showed themselves, yet they were always perceptible.

A mystical encounter, as the mist lifted, nothing of it was visible anymore,
the monks awoke on a green meadow high in the mountains, as if it had been a dream or perhaps a vision?
The air was fresh and clear
and against a tree leaned a red staff with golden decorations, and the story wrote itself…

A fragrance that tells stories and is artistically incredibly well made.
Intense and unique,
but I can't really see myself wearing the scent,
smelling it, simply enjoying it and
letting my thoughts run free is more likely.

The fragrance is an experience and worth a test!

As a great animal lover, this perfume touched me immediately on a deeper level. The scent opens with a fresh, crisp apple note reminiscent of a juicy Fuji apple - vibrant, clear, and simultaneously harmoniously embedded in a green-fruity composition. The longer it unfolds on the skin, the more multifaceted it becomes: sometimes playful, sometimes meditative, almost as if one were to find oneself in a quiet Japanese garden.

What particularly excites me is how authentic and characterful this scent is. It is not an interchangeable mainstream perfume, but a small work of art that evokes emotions and tells stories. That is exactly what makes it so special for me. I never thought I could dive so deeply into a fragrance world - but by now, I have become an absolute fan.

It is clear to me: piece by piece, I want to secure the entire collection. Because each individual perfume tells its own story - and together they form a world that I, as an animal-loving person, want to explore with full passion.

like the yuzu version it had a syntheticness in the opening, then an apple candy from my childhood, and then a pleasant incense

Smells astonishingly like a less fizzy Liquides Imaginaires Sancti--which unfortunately means it's redundant in my collection.

I don't get apple at all. Nice general sweetness, woody fresh incense. Reminds me of Loewe 7, but less clove spice, and more money

Today in the monkey house, there are juicy apples, yesterday's incense is just a memory, wood smells freshly polished, and new moss is being delivered.

The religious macaque offered its deity an incense sacrifice with sweet apples and freshly aromatic woods.

Brilliantly creative, dry green apple with skin, incense, tropical woods, and fine myrrh, meditating under a waterfall at a temple.

Apple instead of yuzu, otherwise nothing new. Red apple captured quite well but a bit inconspicuous and the temple incense and green. Asian wood. Hmm.

Best apple scent on the market
Fresh, spicy, pleasantly sweet, and a bit resinous
Unfortunately a bit weak
