Green without ifs and buts
The other day a perfumer wrote to me saying "you like green fragrances, can you recommend one that's not too fougère/masculine but without a citrus top note or lots of flowers and wood?" ... at first I thought "yeah, sure..." and then there was a loooong pause. Because the air gets thin pretty quickly. Sure, there are a number of mono fragrances and the like, but that wasn't the question.
And then, fortunately, there are globules, er Globulus. Green until the doctor comes. The Hulk and the Grinch would be jealous.
No citrus fruits or other fruit - check
No flowers - check
No musk - check
No wood - check!
Et voila!
Simply green, spicy, not too tart, very fresh. Minimally aquatic in the course but the mint dominates and it remains primarily green! In contrast to the green negligee fragrances I recently tested (August Evening), for example, it is not pharmacy-medicinal herbal but more spa / aromatherapy.
It has a little similarity to Vapeur Blanche or Dirty Perfume but despite the woody/musky absence, the longevity on my skin is MUCH better with R&R than with Zara. Dirty Perfume which is listed here as a men's fragrance (even though I find it unisex) is a little edgier than Globulus, where the eucalyptus and mint tend to snuggle into the moss. Nomen est omen.
Globulus is really unisex in my eyes, and the longevity is impressively good for a green fragrance without a wood base. Don't expect 8+ hours now, by no means, but it's one of the few that I don't necessarily have to reapply midday and that you can still find faintly (4-6h roughly estimated).
It's a shame that the "wooden lid" fragrances from Roos & Roos come in very pleasing, hand-flattering bottles, but unfortunately they all have the same design. Although Woods in Love and the like have really beautiful bottles, why not here too? Well, it's a matter of taste.
I can only warmly recommend this to all friends of green fragrances. Roos & Roos generally make very beautiful fragrances and this one fits in perfectly.
