I Love Roses

Floral scents are usually not my thing, especially when they contain many white flowers. But with roses, it's a different story. There are indeed "those" and "those,"
Some are candidates for powder puffs and sweet to the point of being cloying.
The others are spicy, dark, ranging from velvety to bitter.
And THOSE are the ones I love to sniff.
Thanks to a dear "Parfuma," I got a sample of this wonderful, dark, and earthy-woody rose fragrance.
"Stella McCartney fragrances have so far struck me as pleasantly scented but relatively short-lived perfumes. This applies to both longevity and sillage.
However, "Stella Rose Absolute" truly lives up to its name.
For me, it's one of the most beautiful, longest-lasting, spicy-dark rose fragrances I have encountered so far.
I don't need much imagination to transport myself to a nightly enchanted garden, where on mild October evenings, when the first mists appear, it smells of dark roses. And woody amber.

Black Baccara - one of the darkest roses in the world

Rose Absolute EDP Intense goes beyond the sensual perception of smelling. You feel this fragrance on your skin, you can almost see the deep dark panne velvet lying before you and you put on the velvet jacket.

Velvet and the classic rose probably have in common that they are a bit dusty and out of fashion in their pure form. However, Stella McCartney has managed to modernize the highly concentrated rose essence that defines the fragrance, and she has truly succeeded. Extremely feminine, mystical, sensual! You wear black clothing with this fragrance; even a witch would surely find this scent fitting for a full moon ritual in honor of Luna. This fragrance belongs to the night; during the day, one rather carries the remaining hint of the night on the skin and in the mind the associated memories of it, and I am sure he still senses that delicate scent of Rose Absolute from the last night...

In Rose Absolute, the full power of the rose is captured in the top note with a hint of lemon aroma, which only accompanies the entry into this fragrance. Behind the dominant rose, no less lavish amber has been placed, with a touch of violet added. This combination with the rather robust amber provides the counterbalance; the development towards rose soap, rose water, which I often lament in fragrances of this kind, does not occur here.

Despite its rather simple structure, this fragrance has sophistication, a bow to the rose. Bravo!
