Fresh Laundry in a Flower Garden
Today I received my 2nd Library of Fragrance scent.
Since I am still incredibly enthusiastic about "Salt Air" and my love for it keeps growing, my expectations were already quite high.
Admittedly, this is a bit unfair, as "Salt Air" represents almost the maximum of brilliance, so another scent from the popular "Demeter" line could only fall short.
However, I don't want to compare the two; each scent should stand beautifully on its own :)
So, what expectations did I have for "Fuzzy Sweater"? Well, the image, the name... it clearly suggests a cozy, comforting scent. That's how I envisioned it.
I wouldn't categorize the scent as cozy. It's too clean, floral, and cool for that.
I'll try to describe it in my own words.
Probably everyone knows various fabric softeners from different brands in a wide range of fragrance notes.
This one definitely falls into the spring-fresh category. "Fuzzy Sweater" could have benefited from a bit more amber notes. The classic fabric softener scent usually fades quite quickly.
This one doesn't; it lingers and lingers and lingers... That can be almost a bit overwhelming in the nose.
That's what I mean when I say it's not "cozy" enough.
The idea of being bundled up on a cold day with a hot coffee/hot chocolate and a nice book... and then this intense floral freshness... it somehow doesn't fit.
Of course, that's not a criterion for disliking the scent. After all, everyone has different expectations.
It just doesn't quite match my taste. A bit more warmth and fuzziness, and we would have become really good buddies ;)
The longevity is actually not bad. After 4 hours, it's still quite noticeable on the skin. On clothing and bedding, it doesn't last quite as long. There's nothing negative to say about the sillage either.
If you like spring-fresh, floral scents, then "Fuzzy Sweater" is a good choice.
That's all from me; I hope I could shed a little light on this yet unreviewed scent. :)
