Feminite Du Bois twin

I snatched a gently used bottle because I wanted to see if Bowhanti is truly similar to my beloved Feminite Du Bois by Serge Lutens. It definitely is a very close analogue, especially if you don’t compare them side by side. I sprayed them one on each wrist to see where the differences come in… FdB is sweeter, fruitier (plum) and more intoxicating; Bowhanti is fresher, a bit more astringent (juniper berries?), lighter and woodier from the very beginning. These differences get smaller in later stages, both fragrances have mediocre longevity and soft, cinnamony, woody base.

Not Spicy Woods

"Bowhanti" from the new collection of the Body Shop is a wood scent for gin fans. Dry, airy, pleasant, stylish, masculine. Truly a great fragrance for everyday wear. I can hardly think of a situation where it wouldn't fit. A very dry and transparent wood scent, spices are hardly to be expected, if at all.

The juniper brings its usual zest and fruitiness. Whether it's incense, cinnamon, or patchouli, no one is leading the way here; everyone is pulling in the same direction. Mild, relaxed, serious. Gin is the strong spirit for true gentlemen.

Bottle: the new Body Shop EdPs have a subtle charm.
Sillage: hardly noticeable to anyone, yet you are always well olfactorily dressed.
Longevity: 6 hours is enough for me... sometimes.

Conclusion: a real alternative to L'Occitane's "Eau de Cade". Mild. Fruity. Woody. Not spicy at all.

From a Niche of the Body Shop

I particularly appreciate the Body Shop brand for its uncomplicated, affordable, mostly monothematic feel-good fragrances that I enjoy wearing in my free time. "Bowhanti - Spicy Woods" is, however, one of the 5 perfumes from a series with more complexly designed scents. I ordered this one blind based on the pyramid - and I do not regret it.

Spicy Woods? The woody aspect is certainly accurate, but this perfume is only slightly spicy. Instead, I detect something lightly fruity, the origin of which I cannot explain. I cannot identify frankincense and patchouli as individual notes. I feel a distant resemblance to "Feminite du Bois," although "Bowhanti" is much more subdued and less edgy.

I perceive "Bowhanti" as a pleasant woody autumn fragrance with mild sweetness, absolutely suitable for business, as it is quite discreet. And truly something special from the "Body Shop."
