White Pink clouds
A fragrance that seems to have descended from the clouds. I am familiar with many powdery perfumes, but this fragrance was my unmistakable signature scent. If I had to try to describe the essence of the color pink, I would do it with this fragrance. Fragrances can be so simple and yet so beautiful. This fragrance could easily come from Narciso Rodriguez or Juliette Has a Gun. It is subtle, adheres delicately to the skin without leaving a strong sillage. This is not a fragrance that blows people away and makes them say: "Wow, you smell great!" No, White Musk Libertine is more of a calm, deliberate seducer. It only works its magic when you hug or sit close together. The fragrance gently paves its way, radiating an aura that is immediately perceived as trustworthy. A feeling of security spreads. Perhaps this is because it is slightly floral and somewhat milky - it conveys the atmosphere of an enchanted old farmhouse.

What can I recognize in it? For me, the rose crystallizes more as a floral component, which is gently bedded on a cloud of cream and musk. The cream and musk complement each other perfectly, so that the sweet nuances (I also detect a hint of honey) don't seem too intrusive or heavy. Creamy, delicate, fresh, but not too gourmand.

Ah ... It is all the more regrettable that this treasure is no longer produced and can hardly be found. If anyone knows of a similar fragrance, please let me know. I am deeply saddened that I can no longer indulge in this pink and white mist.

Pink Cream
The opening of White Musk Libertine EDP seems to be out of balance. A lot of alcohol bursts out with overwhelming sweet honey, cream and rose. However, given a few minutes to allow it settle down, the balance among these ingredients is recovered. Although it's not an exact replica of turkish delight, this creamy compostion certainly has several characteristics of this delicious confectionary and vaguely reminds me of it. The scent doesn't evolve much afterwards, but simply fades away. And the musk is not very prominent on my skin. The sillage of EDP is close to skin and the longevity is about 6 hours.

The EDT concentration opens quite balanced like the EDP once settled down. However, it soon loses its strength and waters down. I thus largely prefer EDP once the opening has passed.

Fluffy, comforting goodness
This fragrance is like a cozy blanket. I actually like to wear it when I’m unwell, it’s so comforting and doesn’t make me feel nauseous. It’s sweet, floral and powdery - the word that I feel best describes it is ‘fluffy’! It’s a shame they discontinued this one, and I’ll be sad when I finish my bottle. I haven’t really smelt anything else like it.

Loukhoum-esque
I came to The Body Shop WHITE MUSK LIBERTINE with compoundedly low expectations. First, it's the Body Shop. Second, I retain less than halcyon memories of Vivienne Westwood LIBERTINE, which manifested the dreaded hairspray effect on my skin.

What a pleasant surprise it was to find that TBS WHITE MUSK LIBERTINE is a sort of low-brow (supremely inexpensive) version of a loukhoum perfume! Honestly this does not smell bad at all to me, and the drydown is actually quite nice.

One perhaps unexpected virtue of this less expensive loukhoum (relative to Keiko Mecheri or Montale), is that WHITE MUSK LIBERTINE is significantly less sweet than the niche perfumes of this type. That's surely good news for those whose criticism of niche loukhoum offerings focuses primarily on their intolerable sweetness.

Worth a try for those who like sweet perfumes. I myself do not find WHITE MUSK LIBERTINE very musky at all. The name seems a bit misleading to me. This is all about sweetness and light, not shadows and skank.
