Golden Wood
Without looking at the notes, I first clocked this scent as a "honeyed clementine," and lo and behold -- mandarin orange and beeswax are two of the notes. Self-congratulations aside, the scent is quite pretty and "light-colored". It's not an deep, copper-colored kind of aroma, but a warm and yellow-colored one. It's the honey from Winnie the Pooh and the Hundred Acre Wood, which is on second thought, the perfect setting for Golden Wood.
In between the sweet citrus, there's a dry-wood element that fills in the gaps. It doesn't have the tenacity of a stronger wood like cedar or pine, but it still communicates that woodland narrative. Like with many of the other Harmonist fragrances, I think the strength leaves something to be desired. But for what it is, it's beautiful.
