Memories of my mother

I like this, I like it a lot

And I have figured it out. And it kind of ‘ruined’ it for me; I think it’s because it reminds me of how my mother would smell before she’d head out for work or a night out, when I was a kid.

I’m not saying it’s exactly like she smelled but it’s close and reminiscent of how she smelled.

Yeah I can’t wear this now. Might see if my mother would like this for her birthday.

My first review….

…why this fragrance? Quite simply, it is the best I have ever smelled. Yes, opinions vary widely - but for me personally, nothing compares to this scent.
The beginning is very floral and soon this wonderful honey comes in, then it gets tricky: I mean a fine vanilla joins in. Then the fragrance swings back to the floral, with the honey always remaining present.
In my opinion, the scent is very complex, no "sniffer" is like the other. Somehow mysterious.
For me, this fragrance is the sister of "Naxos | Xerjoff," my clear number 2. It is more feminine, floral but has a certain similarity in depth.
S/H at €350 for 50ml? Difficult topic. It is special, I believe that must suffice in this category of perfume…
I can only recommend everyone to buy a sample, you should have experienced it.

Floral Knockout

I am usually not overly strict with fragrances. I know that they are always connected to memories and associations. But here? I am simply irritated.

Looking at the notes, I expected an exotic, floral-fruity mix - lychee, ylang-ylang, Laotian honey. That sounded like a refined, seductive composition. But what I got was something completely different.

The opening? A full-on jasmine hurricane that strikes without warning. I wouldn't have been surprised if tuberose had been listed as well. This intensity of piercing, floral sweetness is downright overwhelming. And then the queen of the night, which does not harmonize but rather adds with piercing intensity. It is not just floral - it is overwhelming, almost a knockout punch.

And then the honey. Or rather: a syrupy sweet load that smells less like warm, golden honey and more like artificial syrup. It lacks elegance, balance - instead, it comes off like an over-the-top teenage perfume.

Those who enjoy sweet, floral fragrances with a lot of power might find happiness here. For me personally, it is simply too much.

Look here, soon the hand will announce midnight.
Your familiar toys, your beautiful room, your world now sunk in silvery shimmer.

Long ago, in distant Chinese waters, a foolish junk set out in search of silver by night.
Greedy and blinded, its crew ignored warnings.
Too intoxicated by the promising juice of that lychee fruit.

In the Golden Dragon, that ill-reputed dive of fortune seekers, they heard tales of wealth and power.
Stories of ylang-ylang so close, ready to grasp.

Neither family nor friend could hold them back.
All the men shed not a tear when they were pierced at sea.

And clear was the night!

In the darkest firmament, in musky freshness, a glaring moon lured them.

Enchanting was its initial jasmine.
They all willingly raised their arms, reaching for it with insatiable hands.

But the floral face of a grimace faded!

Violet honey first tasted their lips, so that their will was broken.
Blinded by the crystalline kiss, they overlooked the glaring snares of the silver creature.

Fear crawled up their bones.
But their fate was sealed.
And only a helpless scream sank in the sea of hungry blossoms.

With the waning moon, the ghostly junk reached the home harbor.
Its wood discolored and coated with an inhospitable glaze.

Their loved ones searched for them.

But only sweet mooncakes with the seal did they find.

And so they avoid the sea on those nights of the moon that promised them much and took everything.

For that seal was never tasted and has been despised to this day.
