Ok this is £70 for 30ml. That is a bargain. I don't care if it's just like a PDM fragrance. This smells amazing. It's potent and lasts forever. It does smell like a tobacco fragrance to me although it's not listed. Definitely a cold weather, evening out fragrance or just sit indoors on a cold day and sniff yourself. Bloody good fragrance.

'Burns The Skin From Your Eyes..'

The titular line is from the 1986 Duran Duran song, "Notorious." It is applicable - not only to this jewel of a fragrance - but to all of the other Aaron Terence Hughes creations I've put my nose on as well. ATH seems to really pride himself on the strength and longevity of his work.

SCENT: Notorious rushes out of the gate triumphantly with impossible-to-ignore sweet, fruity bergamot. I don't pick up the other listed citrus notes (lemon & orange). The mid is vanilla and tonka dominant, and this is mostly what drives the wearing to completion, as I also don't pick up much rum. Honestly, it's so delightful that I find myself ignoring the investigative seeking of notes and just enjoying the aura of the fragrance. This is a winner.

LONGEVITY: This is plutonium. Once applied, it isn't going away anytime soon. I can spray it on early in the morning and smell it a full 24 hours later.

SILLAGE: Monstrous. I applied 2 sprays and my wife smelled it upstairs a couple of minutes later.

BOTTLE: I have the version of the bottle with a rhinestone halo. It's a little garish. It lends the impression that ATH is still trying to figure out his packaging.

VALUE FOR MONEY: It's nearly impossible to find now but 50ml for $130 seems like an exceedingly good value when you consider how strong and long-lasting this is. It'll take you FOREVER to work through the bottle.

Brilliant, but familiar...

One of my favourites from Aaron Terence Hughes. It smells like a blend of ATH's Daddy and Santal Extreme so if you own those already, you might find this one to be redundant. I own lots of his fragrances now and I've noticed that many of them share a very similar dry down. I don't really detect a booziness from Notorious, it's fruity with a strong tonka background - it smells delicious and addictive. As you would expect, longevity and sillage is excellent.

Perfect Scent

Notorious was the first scent from mr.terrence that i had the pleasure to sniff.

Scent is super unique.. its a spicy-citrus -sweet-gourmand-freshie with GREAT performance.
Both sillage and longevity is monster.

I was surprised how good this fragrance actualy was, highly over my expectations. This is totally full bottle worthy!

Simply a masterpiece!

mmHhmmmm you smell so fine!!

Top note:
Notorious starts with a heavy fruity-sweet and slightly fresh scent. Since I have an untrained nose, I can't pinpoint exactly what kind of fruit basket it is. But the opening is definitely amazing. I can somewhat relate to a gummy bear, but not entirely.

Heart note:
In this part of the perfume, the masterpiece comes to light. About 1-2 hours after the opening, a light gourmand aspect emerges in the background of the scent. This part reminds me more of chocolate, but it's somehow hard to identify. There is also a similarity to a smooth rum... This part is overshadowed by the fruity aspect in the opening. Therefore, the gourmand part "lurks" in the background, which makes the scent simply addictive, because the closer you smell it to the skin, the more intense the gourmand part becomes. It takes about 8-12 hours for the scent to reach the heart notes. During this time, Notorious is a real attention bomb. I haven't been able to test it in public yet, but I would estimate that it is incredibly well received.

Base note:
After about 8-12 hours, the heart notes become noticeable. The gourmand part and all fruity notes have completely disappeared by this time. I perceive the rest as a creamy, soft blend of cedarwood, patchouli, and a hint of vanilla. + a very slight sweetness. Very pleasant and cozy. These heart notes last for up to 36+ hours (as a "skin scent").

Sillage/HS:
Not worth mentioning. Absolutely fantastic. A longevity where the dry down of the base notes is still noticeable after nearly 36 hours :) Sillage is perfect. There exists a so-called "scent bubble" around you that accompanies you everywhere.

Conclusion:
Notorious scores in almost all categories. The entire transition from the top notes to the base is simply world-class! The only criticism would be that it might be too sweet for some people at the beginning. In my opinion, the sweet part harmonizes perfectly with the fruity part.
