First niche scent and what a scent!
As the title suggests, Boss Bastard by Aaron Terence Hughes was my very first niche flacon. Before I go into the fragrance itself, I must first point out my path to Aaron:
After immersing myself more deeply in the theme of fragrance two years ago, my path has slowly but surely moved further and further towards the niche. In the beginning it was "only" enough to smell good, but more and more often the desire arose not to smell like everyone else. In the beginning, I was on Youtube with dear Jeremy, but my way led to Frag-Mental. I don't know if you know this video, but I saw a video of Frag-Mental together with Aaron. And this was the decisive video. Aaron's understanding of fragrance completely overwhelmed me. I can still see him smelling scents and then making a face and criticizing individual aroma chemicals. Of course I went to his website after the video and was shocked by the high prices.

Time jump: In the meantime, I discovered the souk function here and souked myself a 5ml sample of Boss Bastard.
I looked forward to this parcel like a little child at Christmas and opened it with just this joy. Without even taking off the cap, I could already clearly perceive the scent. And Boss Bastard just blew me away! I can't really describe it, but the scent made my heart beat faster.
In my eyes the whole thing smells like tobacco going hand in hand with honey. That's it, I can't smell any more scents.
The durability and sillage is extreme and even that completely blew me away at that time, because I never knew anything like that. If a fragrance could be smelled for 6 hours, that was great. But Boss Bastard skillfully exceeds the 12h mark and is even still perceptible on clothes for weeks. Great work Aaron!

I had actually decided not to write any comments on parfumo, because it wasn't mine at school and I didn't know exactly what to put in here. But when I noticed Boss Bastard on my skin again, I knew that I wanted to share this experience with you. If anyone should read this at all, I hope that you can get some added value out of it.

I'm a boss, you a worker, bitch !
Better than with this line of text from a song by Cardi B can not begin this comment. Better can not describe the vibe of the fragrance than with this quite provocative statement. How does the fragrance manage to take something like this out ? I will go into how through the chords just that is created and why many other mainstreamers should take an example - even if you need as a carrier already a certain self-confidence.

Here it really bangs !

Who does not know them ?
Office, suit or everyday fragrances. Fragrances that disturb no one, many like, are rather unobtrusive and are worn with pleasure in the office. So many examples exist in the perfume world. Whether it is a L'Homme , a Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum or a Sauvage Eau de Parfum. All of them have in common that an exceedingly large community these fragrances the greatest possible acceptance nachsagen. This is also true, however, I have to ask my question from my L'Homme comment again.

Do you want to sniff like that every day in the office and disappear into the crowd?
If you think you do not want that, then you should read the comment intensively !

Aaron Terence Hughes describes his Boss Bastard in the introduction video as an homage to the character Jordan Belfort in the movie Wolf of Wall Street (played by Leonardo Di Caprio). If you've seen the movie, you know what vibe and attitude is meant. Arrogant and self-confident, the fragrance should come across and make a real statement. I knew the film and could halfway imagine how the product would sniff at the end, but was then quite surprised. The result is namely less the Wolf of Wall Street, but rather Patrick Bateman from American Psycho (played by Christian Bale).
In contrast to the mother-in-law's favorite Di Caprio is the role in American Psycho namely the much bigger asshole. More arrogance and even more of the "Fuck You" attitude. Everything that does not affect you is unimportant.

As you can read on the statements to the fragrance, the fragrance also seems to polarize any form. Some attest to the fragrance what he wants to express, others are bothered by the figurative-provocative-aggressive nature of the brand. Better marketing you can not get at all, as if so polarizing about it is spoken.

The fragrance is able to transport just that personality and convinces with uniqueness and performance.
Aaron Terence Hughes takes for this two categories and brings them together in a pronounced harmony. On the one hand, the fresh fragrances, which you can gladly describe as office fragrances and in addition the somewhat sweeter evening fragrances. I could not explain at the beginning, how you can combine these two yet opposing categories, but was then convinced. The start is fresh and soft with citrus notes. It seems to me that I even hear a slightly cooling effect on the skin. Immediately, however, the fragrance turns into something woody and brings additional sweet tobacco into play. This is followed by amber notes and some musk, but it doesn't stand out too intensely. It's so hard to describe this combination, as everything intertwines and brings out certain notes every now and then. So in one moment the sweet tobacco note is in the foreground, then times again the amber notes. Self-experience helps enormously with this fragrance. That the amber notes a little wicked or dirty act is still added and make the fragrance really horny.

To describe something more figurative:
One comes early into the office, the fresh notes unfold and say I am present. One strides through the corridors and looks around, who is already all there. From some distance, you see the nice colleague from the neighboring department come to you. Even before he can ask how the last evening was and how good your perfume smells, I tell him: "Fuck you". A bit puzzled he looks at me and starts to stutter. I say it again: "Just fuck you". Probably the rejection of his person overcomes me. He's nice, but you could also say loyal-dumb. A typical yes-man who has never done anything in his life but crawl around the boss's office on his knees. Maybe the blinds were pulled down once so he could prove himself to get his position as department head.
I leave him standing and stride on through the corridors to get to my workstation. The young and pretty assistant manager has been doing her job for some time and seems to have more up her sleeve than the idiot I just left standing. As I walk past her, I wink at her. Over my lips I still get the statement that she knows where my workplace is, if you have nothing planned for tonight and want to experience something exciting.
Many of my colleagues consider me to be aloof and arrogant. I do not care. Their opinion is all the same to me. If the opinion are the daily outpourings of their failed marriages and the boredom in their lives among themselves to exchange, then they should do that. I am something better and do it better.
So, you can go fuck yourself !

Not that the interpretation of the whole would already be good, the performance of the whole then hits again right on the twelve. The durability is already quite violent on my skin. Even after showering, the bastard is still to smell. Here are playing ten to twelve hours in it, because it must be presented over the entire time at work, who is the king here. The sillage is also from another star. Memories of Xerjoff's performance come to mind. Just the first three to four hours the stuff radiates with 3 sprays like hell and reaches every corner of a room. Just on the neck steams the fragrance properly and is present as hardly anything else.

Exactly this makes everything the difference to the common sundries. Massive performance coupled with an independence that has nothing to do with ambroxan or fresh laundry. Rather, the feeling to take off the knickers, because the above-mentioned assistance just sitting naked on the scanner.

Boss Bastard is exactly what I was looking for everyday. Something flashy, something huge, something different. Here you definitely do not remain undetected and makes itself noticeable in its environment.
True to the motto: "I'm the Boss, you a worker, Bitch!"

Presence. Strength. Dominance. The well-groomed office gorilla alphatian
Today: Important meeting, a big project is in the room - I want to feel good for it. The outfit is right - what's missing is a matching scent aura... Presence. Strength, confidence, slight dominance - that could fit! That's where Boardrider's bottling comes in handy. Boss Bastard. Well, if the name here is program - it's worth a try, I think to myself. A short field report.

Just like my previous ATH is also here the prelude clear and distinct. But this time I can not clearly assign the fragrance notes at the beginning. What do I smell there only? Do I like the fragrance now or not? I am confused, already sitting in the car and on the way to the meeting, I wonder if this was the right choice. I sniff again. Maybe the scent is too much for my unsorted nose? Or is it my head that is already in the meeting? I just can't place the scent clearly.

The citrusy top note I expected is dominated by the heart note from the first moment. He dominates for me now also not so much in the first moments, as I would have rather suspected after the words and reviews here. But I feel good with him, he has something.
Special. Kind of. Not a classic, not a copy, not already smelled. Wears probably no other today.

After I park and before I get out, I suck in the scent deeply one last time - scent junkie, caught. I close my eyes and - yes, now it seems to me that there is something slightly egotistical about him, almost smug. There's something about him, "Look at ME! I own all your attention!" Even without any animalistic overtones, there's something of the young gorilla alpha, somehow. Well then...

With that image in mind, I enter the meeting, smiling slightly and eager to see if I perceive a reaction. My counterpart greets me, I notice a reaction for a moment - for whatever reason - his scrutinizing gaze meets mine, I feel a slight irritation. I return the look, calmly and firmly. A good and very successful conversation ensues. I had all the attention I needed for a successful meeting.

Back again, I catch myself - In the much later drydown - bringing my hand to my nose more often to feel the scent once more. Now it has become more pleasing, very pleasant. Maybe it the chocolaty sandalwood with a touch of tobacco, which now just calms me.

I look out the window, realize: this fragrance wants to dominate bossy, that becomes very clear. He is perhaps too much bastard to create confidence and feel-good atmosphere at the same time. It rather irritates, makes a statement of self-assurance, which in the worst case could be interpreted as self-importance. A puckish business aura. That may end well - or it may not.

I like the scent - especially on drydown. But from a fragrance that I wear a lot, I want more: I want to love him, maybe even be addicted to him. I am not in love now, lapsed just as little.

Boss Bastard is a suitable fragrance to get attention at the right moment or to strengthen it. What comes as an intention then with others - depends on the wearer.

I will wear it again, for sure. Maybe when it's least expected of me. Oh well, it'll be nice - at least for me.

Thanks again to Boardrider for the great bottling!

Feet up that comes...polarizing
Who?the scent, the comment here and the perfumer ATH.for me really a Boss scent, not so much because of the smell, but more because of the attitude behind it.
You are constantly being told that you should not use loud, room-filling sweet scents for the office, not that you should step on the shoes of people with a "fine nose", some "refined niche snobs, uh...niche lovers" or even "insult their nose! Wow, sounds for me honestly said after heavy bodily injury who dares to do something like that: "Take rather something inconspicuous, something pleasing so that you do not leave a bad impression (mostly with persons you do not like anyway)" But then comes ATH, and looks first of all "very unprofessional" :O.Tattooed, often with extravagant colored hair, and with a "human degrading naming" and brings a fragrance on the market, "Boss Bastard" for the office, sweet, room filling and with a certain edge, which I just can't describe Boss Bastard is airy, fresh and fruity for the first 10 minutes, then it goes into a beautiful sweet-ambered-woody tobacco can smell and unfortunately it loses its fragrance towards the end with a sweet and light dirtiness. The base note is a mixture of cocoa, with a clean vetiver, and sandalwood is m.M.n.n here not even so strong present, because a fruity and slightly dirty musk note covers the whole.Sillage and durability are both top.
Actually I celebrate this fragrance for being sweet and masculine at the same time, because it is not at all "impotent" or "shy" and tells the people who think it is "out of place in the office" or "a sweet, unmanly pap" to shut the fuck up.That's what I think characterizes self-confidence and also masculinity: if you wear exactly what you want to wear, even if it's not "in vogue" or "usual", with the conscious intention that you might get negative feedback here and there.

The moment when all the other perfumes in the room vanish into thin air...
Boss Bastard was another blind buy of mine. I really had no idea what would expect me here. I wear Boss Bastard now for the second time and am still quite enchanted by this fragrance.

Boss Bastard starts with the following notes: Tobacco, sandalwood, lots of cocoa, some musk. Amber, Cedarwood. The fresh top notes I can not really perceive here at most in homeopathic dose. But that doesn't really bother me, because Boss Bastard wants to polarize, and Boss Bastard does that with flying colors. Boss Bastard is really not for sensitive noses. I really advise against taking more than 3x sprays, because Boss Bastard is extremely strong and has an incredible silage. Other perfumes in the room are simply eliminated here, when the Boss Bastard wearer enters the room you can almost feel how other perfumes leave the room or simply no longer exist. The fascinating is but at the same time that I have already received several compliments for Boss Bastard.

The price here is even really good, especially with 20% off. Here I can really only say great. The shelf life is well over 12 hours, but longer I have not tested it yet, because I have always showered after circa 12 hours.

Fruity opening with a sweet dirtiness. In the drydown, I get cocoa, sandalwood, vetiver with a dirty musk. At the end, tobacco and wood.
