Inoffensive bath soap
Denim opens with a clean blend of neroli, ylang, tuberose, a creamy base of white musks, with a tiny dense taste of red pepper. A soapy-powdery floral scent, creamy and "white", luminous, synthetic (therefore plain and chemically "sharp") but nonetheless somehow vibrant and nice, although not that captivating or intriguing – in other words, pleasant and cozy as an ylang-white musks soap gel. I honestly don't smell the oak moss note, the only thing which may be closer to it is just a canonical balmy-earthy base. I assume the connection to denim is cotton, as this delicate, soft, mellow floral scent surely does not connect with the "rawness" of jeans. Synthetic drydown, but pleasant. Not bad (meaning not stinky), but not worth its price.

Old Wine in Niche Bottles
Even though my headline suggests another negative review, that is not the case!

Okay, I do have a bit of criticism, but the scent comes across quite well for me, and before I delve into the critical remarks, I want to first express the positive aspects of the fragrance.

OH±Denim is, in my opinion, a really well-composed, monothematic tuberose scent. The tuberose is present, has endurance, but never drifts into the narcotic or cloying territory.
The fragrance has a good presence and corresponding longevity, so far so good.

Now I come to the but!

The clinically trendy niche brand presentation, in my opinion, does not fit at all with this, what I consider, 70s American floral scent (it totally reminds me of Anne Klein), and I have to think of just about everything else, but not jeans. A suit and blouse seem to me to be a better fit, and I don’t really find such an outfit particularly niche.

OH±Denim is listed as a unisex fragrance, but I can imagine that most men will probably struggle with such a hefty floral perfume. Although I like the scent, it does come off as a bit too feminine for me, and honestly, it also bores me a little, but it’s not bad.

"Köperbindung"
The southern French city of Nîmes has been known since the 17th century for high-quality, fine, and robust fabrics, and its history is closely linked to the history of the textile industry. In the late Middle Ages, a fabric was developed that was woven in a so-called "twill weave." This fabric was originally referred to as "Serge." "Serge de Nîmes" is thus a fabric that finds its origin in Nîmes and over time evolved into the shortened word "Denim." The blue-and-white denim fabric is perhaps the most prominent representative of this basic weave type for woven fabrics.

OH±Denim is a fragrance that envelops me in a floral, densely woven floral blanket right upon application. Graceful, still closed white flowers with a hint of pink at the tips, pale green leaves, long stems, delicate yellow blossoms with a touch of green in their color, white, yellow, and pale green waft around my senses and transport me to flowery realms. A very fine, slightly subtly dry, herbal note playfully sits in the background, pushing a pastel-colored image to the forefront. Is jasmine hiding somewhere in this veil of flowers? I find the name excellently chosen when I understand denim as a weaving technique of a fabric. Here, flowers have been woven together into an olfactory fabric!

Regarding longevity: After eleven hours, I still perceive a hint of the fragrance, which smells slightly soapy in the dry down. OH±Denim is, in my opinion, far too feminine for a man.

I love flowers, but floral perfumes are not among my preferred favorites, and I struggle with this scent, even with a description, as it does not appeal to me at all. However, I am sure that for this, in my opinion, classic fragrance, there is somewhere a woman with her own lovely style who is searching for it.

In my imagination, she wears one of those three-quarter-length stonewashed summer jeans that flatter her hips, her bare feet are in light brown or white open-toed leather sandals with a strap, which may be somehow adorned. A light blouse, which she hasn't tucked into her waistband (!), flutters in the summer breeze. Her hair has been up for hours, and little strands tumble down on the sides. She laughs heartily and is cheerful and content. Perhaps she already has a few charming wrinkles, or perhaps not. She is immensely enjoying her free time and is not thinking about the stress of work, which she has locked away in a little box at home, having thrown away the key. Her eyes are clear, bright, and friendly. Her smile: consistently stunning!

I hope the fragrance will find its wearer, and the two will be woven together through "Kö(r)perbindung"! I wish it for both!

Jeans ??? HHmmm ... can't be ...
Or can it?
No, probably not, a very nice scent, a dream of longevity but I don't think the scent has any connection to jeans ...

For me, the scent starts off slightly medicinal, no idea why but I immediately think of a hospital ... which is actually terrible for me, I and hospitals do not go together ... ;-)

It's only very brief, like the baby oil in the Silk scent, just seconds ;-)

Then it takes on a mini hint of spiciness, very subtle but there, yes, even my girls thought so ;-)
"Mama, you're right, that's a spice!" ;-) ;-) Well, when I said it's a perfume with a hint of spice they were satisfied too, not that they would run off and tell everyone "Mama bathes in the spice rack!"
With those two, you never know ... back to the scent ... ;-)

Many flowers mix in, so finely that I am totally thrilled again, simply dreamy ... lovely, delicate, and beautiful. I often have a problem with tuberose but here it stays in the background, so we get along great, this time it doesn't annoy me at all ;-)
The scent lasts about 8 hours on me, which really surprised me, I expected a longevity like the Silk scent but this one lasts much longer.

So I will move on to the next scent ... Latex ... hhmmm I'm curious what my husband will say about it tonight ;-) ;-)

You can't blame it for its name
What do I imagine when I think of a fragrance named "Denim"? Durability, sturdiness, work, rough fabric.

What do I get? Flowers, white and sweet, overwhelming abundance with a hint of sandalwood, a giant bouquet of it!

These flowers are incredibly present right from the start; one spray too many and the entire office staff is gasping for air! This incredible floral load knocks you off your feet. Neroli, tuberose, and also ylang-ylang (yes, I know they are not white but yellow) are only barely tamed by the pepper. However, I can't explain where my impression of sandalwood comes from, as I don't find the slightest hint of patchouli in the fragrance. Even my least favorite combination of amber and vanilla is extremely subdued, because even after more than 9 hours, "Denim" remains a floral scent for me and only becomes a bit softer with musk and oakmoss.

I can't detect a real scent progression, a striking change; the bouquet from the beginning is also the bouquet at the end, but is that necessarily bad?!

I can only explain the naming through its longevity; otherwise, I have not the slightest idea why the fragrance is called "Denim."
