WE±Tweed UerMi 2014

Categorizing "WE±Tweed" leaves me somehow helpless. I like the subtle smoky and resinous flavour which is already creamy from the beginning on. Is this an excellent and special kind of ambroxan which is a perfect copy of genuine whale ambra also called amber gris? I suppose so. Because the warm, dainty yet smoothy very particular fragrance with a trace of sweetness is very intriguing for me.
The amber gris note is intensifying slightly during about one hour and "WE±Tweed" is staying like this for hours. Nothing else is happening with "WE±Tweed".
The imagination of the fabric tweed I let aside. Because I do not know which idea of tweed the perfumer "Jean Jaque" had while concocting "WE±Tweed".
I rate it with 70 % only, because over the long time "WE±Tweed" is percolating, the exitement of the beginning is vanishing.

After more than 12 hours around me there is doubtlessly a constantly lasting scent of ambroxan rising from my wrist on which I had applied "WE±Tweed"

Tweed is a candidate from the UerMi line that I personally like the most. The scent itself is shrouded in smoky clouds, interwoven with a rather fluid resin that boldly reveals itself in the rays of the sun.

Tweed is not for the faint of heart, as it brings you to your knees and weighs heavily on the wearer. One should not be deterred by this, as the initial burden that Tweed places on its wearer is quickly lifted, forming a beautiful base of sweet woods, spices, and a warm, resinous sweetness. It lasts.

At first, however, it also pushed me quite hard against the wall, and the smoky clouds rushed into my lungs. Mixed in is a moderate note of hot, squealing tires spinning on asphalt. Gasoline sneaks into my thoughts. This, however, is only faintly present, yet somehow perceptible. Whether it's just in my imagination or truly incorporated into the scent, I can't quite categorize. It sounds crazy, but that's how it is.

The scent is then clearly overtaken by a sweetness and becomes quite warm. I would quietly suggest "skinny," although the spices somewhat temper this. Woody, slightly balsamic notes are added. Over time, this scent becomes quite pleasant. Nevertheless, it is a rather heavy fragrance, distinctly soaked in that hot resin note that seems to stretch contentedly in the sun. Despite its heavy load, I would also try it in the height of summer. Maybe it fits there too! The whole mix of my perceptions of gasoline, warmth, spinning tires, and this sweet resinous note seems to be shared by my husband as well. He finds the opening and the fading of the scent very interesting and distinctive.

The sillage, however, is in the middle range; you really have to lean in deeply to experience it properly. The longevity is around 6 hours. The warmth remains until the end. Tweed doesn't make any big leaps; rather, it suddenly flows into oblivion when the warmth and resin have dissolved from you.

An interesting and impressive experience. Some might even grow quite fond of it, even if it isn't exactly everyday wearable. Nevertheless, I find that the scent is quite interesting and boldly composed, even if it is not unprecedented in perfumery. I feel it lacks a bit of a long-lasting presence, with strong smoke and a distinctly crackling passion when I pour it over myself.

However, I still value it at a full 70%.

Tweed, derived from the Scottish word "tweel," which describes the weaving technique, is a heavy fabric, often with woolen yarn nubs, that is also used for kilts.

Appropriately, WE±Tweed is a dense, heavy fragrance. Very warm and sweet and absolutely long-lasting. The sillage, on the other hand, is not so impressive. To my nose, the notes of Ambroxan and musk dominate, which I almost feel I can taste in my throat, so intense and prominent are they here. Violet leaves or even pepper, on the other hand, I search for in vain... there’s nothing green, nothing prickly-sharp. The dark, heavy, warm fabric is flawlessly and uniformly woven and covers everything else.

I don’t find the scent unpleasant and it’s quite wearable for the colder half of the year, but somehow I miss a bit of pep here, a corner, a small flaw in the weave, something that breaks up the uniformity, which feels a bit numbing...

...I was sitting by the roaring fireplace, wrapped in my clan leader's thick plaid, and drinking hot chocolate with melted marshmallows in it.

That could be the short description of this fragrance. "Tweed" hits me right from the start with a full blast of Ambroxan and Benzoin, accompanied by a light yet distinct smoky note that desperately tries to keep these two cuddle monsters a bit in check. The pepper gives in immediately without any resistance, and the violet leaf doesn't even make an appearance. At some point, the smoky note throws in the towel and leaves the scene to the overly sweet, spicy-woody duo for the next 7-8 hours.

The sillage is stunning, like a thick, warm, suffocating tweed blanket that is also quite long-lasting.

"Tweed" will surely find its admirers, but for now, I have thrown off the blanket, left the clan chief sitting alone by the fire, exited the cabin, and am going out for a bike ride.
