Who's that? Tus?
Vertus, never heard of it. Vertus, pardon me, Vertus Paris, does not reveal much of himself. So, enough unintentional alliterations.
On the website and Instagram there is only a little promo, interestingly enough in France (Paris?) there seems to be no point of sale. A flagship store exists in Istanbul for this purpose, which also coincides with the name of the managing director. In general, one seems to focus more on Russian and Arab audiences.
Bois et Cuir - wood and leather - reads quite interesting. SF Perfume History in Cologne, the only German partner, sent me a sample.
The top note is astonishing and surprising, because it screams towards an "Aventus", but somewhat milder and creamier. The sample itself also smells delicious and radiates a great note.
On the skin, however, this completely subsides after only five minutes. What remains is mostly sandalwood with a very subtle fruity undertone and slight traces of a pseudoud approach. I cannot confirm the advertised leather.
Our candidate doesn't have any real stamina. After a good three hours he limits himself to being close to the skin and, in my opinion, can hardly be distinguished from the much simpler Zara Sandalwood. My test candidate from the day before (other brand, other arm) is still present.
Conclusion: it sounds exciting, but is far less complex and high quality than the pyramid, presentation and price level suggest. Basically it would be a nice companion, but the price/performance argument clearly contradicts this. For me he is an impostor who wants to shine with image and top note.
