The nicest dry sauna in Skyrim

I'm not expecting a lot of gamer / perfume fan overlap on Parfumo. But for those who get the reference, Abime smells like the nicest dry sauna in Skyrim.

A well-blended, restorative woody cedar sauna session after a long day. In such a scenario, a kitchen might be nearby, with subtle notes of chili, pepper, and funky resin waft in and out. The coziness comes in part from how good the dry heat feels, but also from anticipating that you will have to walk back into freezing winds when you are done.

It's both luxe and Medieval, smooth and very lightly smoked, simple yet interesting from first spritz to dry down.

Especially cozy during the winter season.

Obviously good with clealy flaws

As a wood lover, I was very much looking forward to testing Abîme. The experience was interesting, and unexpected. The scent opens with a sweet and spicy wood smell, and somehow contains a trace of animalic offness. Soon a plant note (probably Elemi) uplifts the experience with a little kinky flavor. Then the scent leaves the stage almost entirely to cedar and sandalwood. Have to say, cedar is not my favorite note. The smell in this stage feels a little dull and boring. Luckily, the scent eventually evolves into a slight sweet woody scent that I like very much.

The experience with Abîme is a little mixed, but overall positive. I thoroughly enjoyed its lively opening, and cozy and intimate ending, but find the lackluster second stage hard to forgive.

Sandalwood Cedar

It’s a beautiful, super smooth white sandalwood cedar. I don’t really get any of the pepper in the opening though it is drier and less sweet through most of the first few hours of the fragrance on my skin. The creamy sweetness of the sandalwood doesn’t come out until the late dry down on my skin, still accompanied by a bit of lemony acerbity (elemi, or so the ad copy claims). It wears pretty close to the skin. I really wish the creamy sandalwood came out earlier.

Sprayed on from the tester bottle at Ministry of Scent in SF on a 75F day. Worn about 10hrs at time of writing.

Smoky, Spicy (Sandalwood)

Abime has been available since 2022. The nose behind this perfume is Nathalie Lorson.
Smoky spicy (sandalwood) scent. A good amount of pepper, rather masculine to my nose. Dark, spicy, and noble. Not a blind buy and not a 08:15 fragrance. Dry wood, elegant and unique. Resinous and earthy in the drydown, the sharpness of the pepper remains throughout.
Well-balanced, dark, and intense, more suited for men over 50, well-dressed, classic style, three-day stubble and gray strands in the hair. This is how a lawyer, banker, or another classic profession would smell in a male version. Whisky in hand, horn-rimmed glasses, and jazz in the background…
