A legend returns

Like everyone else, I got very curious about these two new limited releases so I have ordered them to see how the new Guerlains are.

I have tested both and I can say that I am impressed, last time I tested a new Delphine Jelk release I was not very impressed, but now I am.

This is a scent which has for sure an inspiration in the house of Guerlain and if you know that one, you will get the association right away after spraying it.

In my collection there are two similar scents with the Platine Privé: Imagination from LV and L´Homme Ideal Cologne .. but somehow I do not feel they are redundant to own all of them, they are all great in their own way I would say.

For a scent released literally a week ago, the performance is very decent and as a first batch, I do expect it to evolve a bit in the next weeks or months. I could still smell it on my wrist after 8 hours and on the clothes it has a light silage in the lobby.

For Guerlain, this must be a winning bet, because apart from Neroli Outrenoir there are not alternatives for a nice fresh smell, please correct me if I am wrong. The Guerlain Homme EDP is nice and smells like Mojito, but will not last as long as Platinum Privé.

I love the line!

My favorite iteration of L'Homme Ideal

As someone who discovered L'Homme Ideal Cologne too late, I am thankful for this new iteration. This gem opens with a bracing and refreshingly green grapefruit. As the opening gracefully lifts away, a magically delicate and creamy almond powder emerges. The tension between bitter green and silky powder creates a simple but intriguing composition. Of the several L'Homme Ideal flankers I have tested, this one finds the perfect balance for me. I'm very satisfied that I gave it a chance!

I highly recommend this if you want a less traditionally clean and masculine fragrance that feels appropriate in warm, but not hot, temperatures. Now why is this modern gem listed as "limited edition" by Guerlain? Certainly, it's popularity and quality warrants it a permanent addition to their catalogue.

You remind me of someone. Those almonds, those citrusy notes. Aren't you... oh, what the hell. Glad you're here.

A true summer dream for me. Fresh enough to wear in high temperatures. With a slight sweetness so that you can also wear it to a party. Whether white T or white shirt with chinos. It works.

If I could choose a summer fragrance from my collection, it would definitely be this one. Guerlain has done it again. I am thrilled.

A few words about the fragrance. It starts out sparkling and citrusy. The almond is still a little hidden at the beginning. I was a little impatient at the beginning but it joins in soon. It loses some of its effervescence over time and becomes a little creamier and therefore more elegant. That's how it stays for me and that's a good thing.

What else is important. It lasts. It has always lasted a whole working day for me.

I wrote above that it is a summer dream. It is, but it can be used flexibly. Of course, it also works in spring and nobody will turn their nose up at it in fall either. If I need a good mood, I wear it in December too. That's exactly what this fragrance does to me - it puts me in a good mood.

I'm a huge fan of the range and I'm delighted to have it in my collection.

How elegant do you want to be as a summer fragrance? Guerlain like this: "Let me do it!" Let's hear it!

Four fragrance notes are indicated. Grapefruit, almond, vetiver and pepper. That's also what I can smell, other noses may look behind the Guerlain curtains, but not me. This is also what you can smell throughout. Linearity is not an omission if the result you can smell throughout is a beautiful one.

With this creation, Guerlain has succeeded in creating an incredibly elegant, sour-fruity, refreshing summer fragrance.
The grapefruit in this fragrance is a superstar! It comes across as sour and slightly sweet, but it looks damn elegant, this fragrance is not a sports fragrance or a freshie as it is written in the book.
It is a refreshing, elegant fragrance that evokes midsummer associations for me, but of course this fragrance could also be used all year round in an office environment and shine.
Last summer, I wore L'Homme Idéal Eau de Toilette at 30 degrees plus X. I perceived the fragrance as more sweet, but still refreshing. Funnily enough, I couldn't smell the leather very clearly in L'Homme Idéal Eau de Toilette until later. It was as if the fragrance was functional and the leather would be reduced in summer. However, L'Homme Idéal Platine Privé is the better fragrance when it comes to hot days. It is a fragrance that generates the feeling of summer. Even with these low temperatures out there, associations of summer come to mind when I spray the fragrance on. It's the perfect scent for summer in the city, with blue jeans, light sneakers and a white shirt.
The Guerlain L'Homme Ideal DNA is always perceptible through the almond, but instead of a sweet that radiates warmth, here it is an almond wrapped in grapefruit that cools. The vetiver with the pepper probably provides the necessary balance that turns this fragrance from a summer bath scent (like the Afternoon Swim; this is by no means a derogatory comment, I think the AS by LV is wonderful) into a fragrance whose wearer says: "Yes, it's hot, but I still dress stylishly and well!". So the white shirt is complemented by a grey linen shirt and tortoiseshell sunglasses, so that our L'Homme Idéal Platine Privé is appropriately honored. The sillage moves playfully around the shirt, which blows in the light wind.

The fragrance lasts 4-6 hours on my skin. After the 3 hours it's skin-deep, as they say. But it is also a fragrance that you could definitely spray again. The opening is so refreshing anyway, like biting into a cold grapefruit, that spraying it on is a highlight every time.

Guerlain has created a masterpiece of simplicity here. Simple fragrance notes, simple composition, but so incredibly well done that you just want to applaud.
