Is it really you?
You remind me of someone. Those almonds, those citrusy notes. Aren't you... oh, what the hell. Glad you're here.

A true summer dream for me. Fresh enough to wear in high temperatures. With a slight sweetness so that you can also wear it to a party. Whether white T or white shirt with chinos. It works.

If I could choose a summer fragrance from my collection, it would definitely be this one. Guerlain has done it again. I am thrilled.

A few words about the fragrance. It starts out sparkling and citrusy. The almond is still a little hidden at the beginning. I was a little impatient at the beginning but it joins in soon. It loses some of its effervescence over time and becomes a little creamier and therefore more elegant. That's how it stays for me and that's a good thing.

What else is important. It lasts. It has always lasted a whole working day for me.

I wrote above that it is a summer dream. It is, but it can be used flexibly. Of course, it also works in spring and nobody will turn their nose up at it in fall either. If I need a good mood, I wear it in December too. That's exactly what this fragrance does to me - it puts me in a good mood.

I'm a huge fan of the range and I'm delighted to have it in my collection.

So private - unfortunately no access for me
Although I am actually a great friend (fan might be a bit too much) of the house of Guerlain, I somehow don't have the same access to L'Homme Idéal Platine Privé as many others here who have reviewed it.

Although this limited edition flanker has a beautiful, ripe grapefruit opening with a perceptible pinch of pepper and some vetiver, the almond unfortunately appears very late and extremely shy. In addition, I find both projection and longevity relatively manageable. No - I really didn't expect a beastmode and I appreciate it when an EdT can convince with inner values, but I don't recognize them, except in a few accents of grapefruit.
Nor do I detect any of the often-cited creaminess.

I also found Habit Rouge L'Instinct, which was also created by Delphine Jelk, strange. But I was probably not the only one who found it to be a bit of a mess or somehow watered down and irrelevant. However, Delphine Jelk's Habit Rouge in the Rouge Privé version made up for everything for me. It really is top - as far as I can judge subjectively with many others.

According to many perfumers, L'Homme Idéal Platine Privé should be just as good and I don't want to question that at all, but unfortunately I'm at a loss and still can't give it more than a seven, i.e. above average, although I think the theme, the bottle and the grapefruit are excellent. There seems to be something in it that passes me by - which just makes the overall appearance seem too mundane for me.

Oh my God, he's great!
As a newcomer, in addition to specific fragrances, I also come across fragrance houses that are already in the focus of experienced users. I think Guerlain is such a house. What I have heard about Guerlain so far is how good this house is and that the ingredients used are among the best on the market.

Due to a lack of experience, I have not yet been able to put these statements into a plausible context. So it was time to investigate this topic.

Thanks to Parfumo, I quickly selected the fragrances in question and ultimately decided on L'Homme Idéal Platine Privé. If you take a look at my current fragrances, you will notice that they are characterized by a high proportion of citrus fruits. I like that very much.

I received the fragrance a few days ago and didn't touch it at first. Suddenly I asked myself whether another citrus fragrance with a manageable shelf life (according to the reviews) was really necessary.

With the creation of this review, I can write, fortunately, curiosity won out.

I hope I'm not offending anyone here, but I personally don't believe in God and yet it was the first thing I had to think about. Oh my God, he's great.

L'Homme Idéal Platine Privé starts with a tangy and very fresh lemon. The great thing is that it doesn't smell synthetic at any point. As it progresses, I notice the vetiver, which moves the fragrance more in the direction of a fresh and creamy grapefruit At this point, it reminds me of the previously tested Theoreme. However, while the Theoreme smells unpleasantly synthetic to me and gives me a headache, the Guerlain fragrance remains pleasantly natural. The typical Guerlain almond is added as gently as the grapefruit. This gives the fragrance a sophisticated touch.

I am not yet able to accurately assess the longevity. In the end, however, I don't care whether the fragrance lasts 1, 4 or 12 hours. It smells so fantastic that I couldn't care less about how long it lasts.

Something about the bottle. Absolutely high quality. Although the lid is only made of plastic, it is so thick that it weighs quite a bit. The embossing and the prints on the bottle, all clean and high quality with attention to detail. Hats off.

For me, it remains to be said that there is something to the many statements about Guerlain. Sure, L'Homme Idéal Platine Privé is more of an introduction to Guerlain, but it makes you want more.

A legend returns
Like everyone else, I got very curious about these two new limited releases so I have ordered them to see how the new Guerlains are.

I have tested both and I can say that I am impressed, last time I tested a new Delphine Jelk release I was not very impressed, but now I am.

This is a scent which has for sure an inspiration in the house of Guerlain and if you know that one, you will get the association right away after spraying it.

In my collection there are two similar scents with the Platine Privé: Imagination from LV and L´Homme Ideal Cologne .. but somehow I do not feel they are redundant to own all of them, they are all great in their own way I would say.

For a scent released literally a week ago, the performance is very decent and as a first batch, I do expect it to evolve a bit in the next weeks or months. I could still smell it on my wrist after 8 hours and on the clothes it has a light silage in the lobby.

For Guerlain, this must be a winning bet, because apart from Neroli Outrenoir there are not alternatives for a nice fresh smell, please correct me if I am wrong. The Guerlain Homme EDP is nice and smells like Mojito, but will not last as long as Platinum Privé.

Thank you for checking my video too.

The new "Cologne" of the ideal series
The black bottle, the massive name, I never expected such a fresh fragrance to be sprayed from it. The top note and the first hour are wonderfully grapefruit-based. You can also smell an airy idea of the other l'Homme Ideals. But this one is so light as a feather, you could describe it as if Mrs. Jelk had distilled a sugary mash barrel of Homme Ideal EDP and came up with this ethereal Platine distillé water. After 1 hour, the green almond emerges, which doesn't smell like a normal almond, but more like a plant than an almond kernel. A little later, however, a somewhat strong synthetic note comes through, which becomes stronger the more you spray at the beginning. I do not perceive vetiver and pepper.
For comparison, let's briefly mention the other Homme Ideals:
l'Homme Ideal EDT: strong sweet top note, then a strong change to leather (similar to Dior Fahrenheit) followed by a soft woody base with light pepper. A real fragrance journey.
l'Homme Ideal EDP: even sweeter, but then even better. Here you can smell the Ideal DNA, a little too sweet, very special and unusual, it blends pleasingly into a heavenly soft drydown of wood and incense.
l'Homme Ideal Intense and Extreme: the former slays me with smoky styrax, the latter with a synthetic drone.
Since the Homme Ideals above all pack a powerful punch, I like this Platine Privé the most and it is also the most distinguished.

Not a cologne rebottle(I own it). It's similar, but has a sharper greener aspect, brighter citrus, even a green crispness like cool. 8.5/10

L'Homme Ideal rebottled with a more pronounced citric tartiness in the opening. Nice to see it relaunched.

It opens with a tart grapefruit and Ambroxan, similar to a soft Bvlgari Tygar. In the drydown, an almost imperceptible almond and vetiver.

yes, it smells like the cologne, but not quite. It's a little sharper and more transparent. The creamy facets are missing, still good
