Zonda means foehn wind and I try to align this with the scent - yet I cannot succeed. The opening with guaiac wood is unpleasant for me. I do not like this slightly musty-sweet note and it is anything but fresh. I practice patience and wait for this opening to fade, which fortunately happens after about 20 minutes.
After that, the scent is almost as beautiful as fresh, green wood. Very aromatic and natural. Why can't it smell like this from the beginning, that would be phenomenal. Even better would be if Zonda lasted as long as Yakeñ, to which it partially resembles, without reaching its spiciness.
In the drydown, I also smell the pepper, which is very subtly dosed and gives Zonda a different direction than Yakeñ shows.
Unfortunately, I had to make deductions in the rating for Zonda - on one hand due to the unpleasant top note and on the other hand due to the low longevity. It lasts a maximum of 3 hours and is therefore significantly weaker than Yakeñ.
