Fruity, woody & unexpected
A fragrance that I really liked straight away when I tested it for the first time in 2024, the year it was released. Unsure whether the woody notes would suit me as a woman, I left the fragrance on the shelf. But it didn't let go of me. When I wanted to test it again on my next visit to Zara, to my regret it had disappeared from the shelf. And there was no sign of it the following times either.
Today, at least six months later, my husband discovered the fragrance again by chance among the men's fragrances. He showed it to me because he had been eyeing it up for himself.
I was almost blindsided and of course I bought it straight away. The fragrance can be classified as unisex for us, the bottle and packaging actually look more masculine by Zara standards. So it's not surprising that the bottles have found their way into the men's department. The bottle itself looks surprisingly high-quality, not least because of its magnetic closure.
The Elixir actually has little to do with the EDP. Fortunately for me, because not only do I find the EDP too weak (after half an hour on my wrist, it was already over for me), but I also find the fragrance incomplete.
The Elixir, on the other hand, is a special and well-balanced composition for me. In addition to the listed woody notes, I perceive fruity orange peel and warming, wintery spices. As the fragrance progresses, the citrus diminishes somewhat, allowing the woody notes to come to the fore. An embracing, feel-good fragrance for the colder months of the year.
