Beguiling, full and warm
I won a ticket for a trip to Hawaii, today I received my first traveling letter with five fragrances from Aloha Senses Perfumes in five days.
According to their website, Aloha Senses Perfumes, a startup from Kiel, want to make us smell amazing, lift our spirits and avoid toxins. "Aloha" is the Hawaiian philosophy of life, "to treat each other with love and respect". "It means hearing what is not said, seeing what is unseen and knowing the unknown." So, that's how I understand it, getting involved with other people, trying to understand how they feel and courageously experiencing new things. Perfumer Corinna Kuhnert became acquainted with Hawaiian fragrances at the age of nine. The ingredients are said to be 100% natural and the perfumes are handmade. Little treasures that justify the price.
My journey begins with "Amber - Warm Embrace | Aloha Senses Perfumes", Eau de Parfum No. 2, and welcomes me with a strong ginger and lime pairing. A hut on the edge of the jungle, lively floral and leafy thicket aromas drift over. I have been served a refreshing cocktail to start, a breeze brings freshness.
I am led to my resting place in a house with stone walls and soothing freshness. There are stones of volcanic origin that carry the power of fire. There is vanilla in the air, a cinnamon aroma dances around it, a large bouquet of damask roses stands next to my bed. I lie down and near my pillow I smell labdanum, the resin of cistus, and amber. This bouquet takes me in a tender embrace and I breathe it in deeply. It is polyphonic, a full but not intrusive accord, it caresses the nose and awakens the senses with its warm, delicious spiciness. I spread out my arms and see myself as a winged Thumbelina exploring the rainforest, beguiled by every blossom, every leaf, every drop of resin. And then there is a feast in a sea of blossoms, our welcome party. An overflowing table full of delicacies, a fire of fragrant wood and the sound of drums and flutes welcome the guests. I don't need much more to leave a lasting impression. I will be wearing a thin, long sky-blue dress and will attract everyone's attention. But it's not just me who smells so exciting here. This scent is everywhere. The night, the dances will be long.
