The High Nobility is Here
While browsing through YouTube, I came across a recommendation for Anfar London - Smoky Wood and purchased it blind. With a €60 investment, there was a certain risk involved, especially since there were few reviews about the fragrance and it is not exactly available everywhere. But I am absolutely thrilled with this blind purchase because the scent simply exceeds my expectations.
Let's start in an orderly fashion. The bottle is classic, timeless, and stylish. And that is not a given, because as excellent as the Arabs can create fragrances, they can also be incredibly generous in becoming downright kitschy when it comes to presentation. The fragrance is delivered in a large box with a wood look. When you lift the lid, the bottle is presented against a gold panel. Those who appreciate staging will be pleased here. The bottle itself is, however, simple, because it doesn't need to be anything more.
The scent is the crucial part, and here it gets intense. Of course, one could say it bears resemblance to Sauvage Elixir, but Smoky Wood comes across as even more elegant, mature, and somehow more mysterious.
The smoky aroma and the spice do not take long to fill the room and are complemented by the light musk in the base.
The sillage is very good and pleasing without being overwhelming. It leaves an impression, but without appearing aggressive. With this fragrance, you not only exude calm but also poise and confidence.
The longevity is also very good. It lasts for days on clothing and over 8 hours on the skin.
I would recommend this fragrance for the evening, for going out, and tendentially for colder seasons, as it brings a certain positive weight and warmth.
Not a low-budget fragrance. It doesn't have to be, because it simply convinces. It comes across as noble and mature and presents itself to me as a better alternative to Sauvage Elixir, especially considering the price-performance ratio.
