Quite unique aquatic leather oud
When you first spray Nabati you are greeted by a huge blast of aquatic freshness. The aquatic note is akin to the aquatic qualities in for example YSL Y EDP, i.e it is not extremely aquatic but just enough to provide some energetic freshness. The opening is huge and definitely a "room filler".
As the initial blast calms down and the aquatic note creeps into the background (but doesn't fully disappear) you get a fresh leather and a spiciness with cardamom being the most prominent.
This phase lasts around four hours on my skin and afterwards leave you with a drydown of mostly leather and oud. The oud is no doubt synthetic (with added norlimbanol or similar) but the leather note together with the oud makes the oud feel more real and sometimes I even catch myself thinking it actually is real. The balance achieved between these two accords is impressive. This dynamic duo is softened by a hint of vanilla. The vanilla stays in the background and is just there for balance and structure and a little sweetness.
The drydown doesn't have a huge punch but lasts a very long time due to the long lasting aroma chemicals used here. I have no problem smelling it on my skin even the day after and on clothes it sometimes stays after washing, so it is no doubt a potent fragrance.
People who think this is similar to Dior Homme have obviously smelled neither.
