Houston we have no problem
For me, this fragrance is really niche. I love the departure from the classic, non-offensive department store fragrance and the creation of a distinct, experimental scent that will find both lovers and detractors.

The experimental part begins immediately after the first spray with a strong tomato leaf, which, as if freshly cut, falls very slowly to the ground and hits a lake of gin and juniper berry. The fragrance remains there for most of the time and only in the dry-down does the leaf, which has lost its strength, and the gin and tonic mix dry on bare sandalwood.

The fragrance is a tribute to the design of the bygone space age of the 1960s. A time of optimism, technical progress and full of new ideas.
For me, Chromodoro follows this path with its unique character and the almost perfect symbiosis of tomato leaf, juniper, gin and vermouth, and the concept is a complete success.

Overall, the experience remains very cool and I see the fragrance more outdoors in the fresh air, whether in the office or as a companion for an important occasion.

Thank you for this journey.

Distinctive yet harmonious - Fragrance in Balance
With Chromodoro, I am testing my second fragrance from the Astrophil & Stella brand today.
After Nabati was quite convincing, I also signed up for a sharing, as always super organized, to test the new one of the brand immediately.

As already described there, the brand has set itself the task of combining supposedly inharmonious compositions to create a balanced and harmonious fragrance.

A first glance at the fragrance pyramid initially gave me little indication of the potential scent of the fragrance. Basil in combination with rum and, last but not least, tomato leaf, which I am often more familiar with as a base note, here in the top note.

All in all, we have succeeded in creating a harmonious but somewhat more complex fragrance structure. Chromodoro is not that easy to describe, at least not for me. I'm looking forward to other noses and opinions.
The description of the fragrance in the words of the manufacturer, which I have copied below, is particularly exciting and underpins the theme of complexity.

Quote:
"Chromodoro is inspired by the design era of the Space Age and reflects the boldness and innovation of the 1960s. This fragrance celebrates the creativity of American West Coast advertisers and designers during a time when interior design was characterized by clean lines and futuristic shapes.
The perfume captures the essence of a time when the world looked to the future with optimism and enthusiasm."

In my opinion, a wonderful and at the same time exciting description that can no longer be surpassed!

For me, the fragrance starts with a soft, non-edgy citrus and an earthy-spicy base The whole thing is quite strongly flanked by herbaceous notes, which are by no means medicinal or syrupy, but rather light, fresh and cheerful. I think the angelica root is probably mainly responsible for this.
The fragrance then picks up speed in its development and the combination of gin, juniper and wormwood is easily identifiable. The base remains quite earthy and herbaceous, but there is a pleasant freshness to the fragrance that makes the development noticeable. I personally don't notice rum at all now.
White, floral influences contribute to the harmony and can be assumed in the overall structure.

In the head and heart, Chromodoro still has a certain sharpness without being unrounded or harsh, which is increasingly lost in the base.
No wonder, because musk and sandalwood, two appeasers, are waiting there.
Vetiver counteracts a little so as not to completely lose the basic spiciness/"earthiness" and herbaceous note.

All in all, a super balanced fragrance that could appeal to all those who like it greenish, herbaceous, fresh but still gentle, soft and loving. In my opinion, strong work by Julien Rasquinet.

It lasts around 7 hours on me, the projection and silage are rather moderate and not too intrusive.

Nice smell, green and musky with a hint of vetiver. It smells fresh and clean, but it is very light and short lasting.
