Affordable alternative to Alexandria II? More than that...
I've tested pretty much all versions of Alexandria II.
"Alexandria II (perfume) | Xerjoff"
Alexandria II Anniversary
Alexandria Orientale
Alexandria II Pure Attar

The only thing missing is the Alexandria Imperiale, which I didn't get my hands on.

And of those, I like the Attar the best because it doesn't have the synthetic hairspray note that all the other spray versions have. I'm not sure whether this is due to the cheap alcohol.
It's also just richer overall. Nevertheless, it is also somewhat demanding and sometimes a little tiring.

The Oriental Rose is like a spray version of Alexandria II Attar. It starts directly with the soul of Alexandria without the unpleasant hairspray note. According to Avapari, extra high quality alcohol is also used. So a bit of a topsy-turvy world when its cheaper brother uses the premium alcohol.

The Oriental Rose then has a richer overall effect and is at the same time less tiring and demanding with the same sillage and lasting power.

For the small price, you also get a beautiful and high-quality solid bottle with heavy gold caps, embedded in high-quality white boxes. Dua Fragrances could take a leaf out of their book, even with the now more beautiful bottles and caps.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has previously reviewed the fragrance and thus introduced me to the brand.

The crown is in place. Only the sceptre is missing.
I'll be honest: whenever I hear that someone is trying to imitate Alexandria II, I'm very skeptical as to whether this depth can really be captured. The thing is a monument - complex, noble, with corners and edges that can't simply be copied. How are you going to recreate this multi-layered composition, this fluid alternation of vanilla, rose and oud in such a way that it doesn't come across as a cheap copy?

BUT - Whatever Avapari has done here - they have understood what Alexandria II is all about.

Not just the notes. The character. The presence. The opening ? Almost congruent. Rose, vanilla, subtle woods - creamy, soft, but never boring.

Now we come to the second BUT - the oud.

In the original, it is like a fine shadow - a hint of wildness that runs through the
elegant sweetness. Here it seems more like a tamed beast. Certainly not a true oud as in the original, but an accord that echoes the idea - only without that dark, mysterious pulse that makes the OG so special. But instead of appearing cheap or artificial, the oud here is more like a perfectly retouched photo - less raw and wild, but smoother and more suitable for everyday use.

What surprised me: this fragrance is so smooth that I almost prefer wearing it to the original - simply because it doesn't demand so much. No mood. No occasion. Just spray it on - and let it work.

Conclusion:

The Oriental Rose by Avapari is not a cheap fake. It's a clever re-edit for everyday wear in the fall.

Alexandria II remains king.
But this one is his casual cousin with a turtleneck sweater and loafers - charming, well-groomed and ready for every day.

The course of power
With every step, my heels echoed softly on the marble floor. The air was heavy - not stuffy, but filled with a scent that made me slow down. Not intrusive, but like a low murmur in a room full of whisperers.

The walls, decorated with gilded accents, seemed to exhale it. Dark rose petals drenched in precious saffron and the smoke of expensive fire. It smelled of decisions made behind closed doors. Of wealth that was so old it was no longer ostentatious. The feeling of power is slowly becoming palpable.

I stood still. The scent became more intense the closer I got to the last door. Not because someone had specially sprayed it here. It was born for this purpose.

My hand hesitated over the door handle. The scent was now a warning hand on my shoulder:
"Everything beyond can be yours. But nothing here will ever really be yours."

I took a deep breath - and felt the smell of power burn into my lungs.

Then I opened the door.
Emptiness. Nothing but a single rose.
And the throne, waiting for someone clever enough not to take it.

This is my 2nd oud fragrance ever, I bought it because it is said to have a strong resemblance to Alexandria II. I didn't have the greatest experience with Xerjoff's gem, but you can still recognize some of the fragrance notes.
The fragrance reminds me strongly of sultans, kings and other people who don't need attention, but already have it. Everything you can say about Alexandria II, I would also include here. Luxury, nobility and power.
If you want a similar experience but don't want to fork out €300+, try this. Around €50 for 50 ml and I am very satisfied.
A little less useful in the coming summer, as long as you're not attending an evening event or on a date, as it is very heavy. You can wear it in everyday life, the durability also allows it, but for me it is more of a fragrance that is unpacked for special occasions. Maybe a few hours in a café is enough for me to put it on.

This perfume inspired me to create an account and write this.
If you're new to oud (or want something similar to the above perfume), you can't go wrong with this.

At this price, it's a "no-brainer." 90% similar to the OG, but personally, I find it a bit too "dark."

Pleasant oriental scent close to Alexandria II Parfum in pure fragrance.
In terms of sillage, a bit weak for the DNA.
