Clay and Sweet Mint
This is my #1 fragrance of all time. Opens with a slight metallic, earthy, and clay-ish smell, the clay accord tones down and you can smell this sweet minty scent which reminds me of powdery spearmint gum strips. I can pick up a slight tobacco scent, reminds me of an unlit cigarette.

This is my favorite weird fragrance, cause it is not a putrid type of weird, more so an interesting type of weird, if I had some money laying around, I would buy at least 3 bottles to last me a lifetime, that's how much I love it!

Metal doesn't smell...
...only contact with skin makes it smell (or stink). That's what I read when I went hunting for the scent of copper on the all-knowing internet dump.

Although many people (myself included) attribute a strong metallic scent to blood and find it unpleasant. Now I wonder if a metallic taste comes about in the same way as the smell? Regardless, I leave it to doctors and biologists to clarify this.

Now, onto the fragrance.

I’m curious how many will smell a distinct metallic note in Copper, similar to Concrete Beton.
According to the advertising text on the Meister perfumery website, there is a copper accord present, although it is not listed.
https://www.meister-parfumerie.de/shop/comme-des-garcons-copper/

I have been wearing the scent since this afternoon, having reapplied it several times on my wrist, and I simply do not smell anything metallic.

One thing should be said right away: those who do not like galbanum will be knocked off their feet by the top note, as the resin is anything but sparingly used here. Accordingly, the opening is strict and very bitter with a tendency towards green.

The fragrance also takes a while before the galbanum recedes into the background and slowly makes way for the myrrh. In between, a slight sharpness can be sensed, but whether this can be attributed to pepper or ginger, I cannot say for certain.

When Copper reaches the myrrh, a soft, creamy-resinous scent unfolds.

By the way, the leaves of violet and tobacco do not come through for my nose and are not missed further.

A small note for those intolerant to galbanum regarding Copper's behavior on fabric. Here, the top note lasts significantly longer, and the bitterness remains more present than on the skin.
And to take the wind out of the sails of the eternal "It's too synthetic for me" complainers right away: Yes, as always with the brand, there is also aroma chemistry involved. :))

I cannot complain about the longevity. Copper lasts well on my skin and even survives a shower, albeit not unscathed. As for projection, the loud top note is quite pronounced, while the base is more intimate.

Can I draw a parallel between the name and the scent?
Clearly no. Somehow, Copper smells earthy to me, and if I had to assign a color to the scent, it would be a reddish-brown.

All in all, Copper is a typical Comme des Garçons, wearable, but with an edge.

Copied?
“Copper” is a grand fragrance cinema. A perfume so brilliant and diverse, inspiring and clever, that I forgive it almost everything. That I paid nearly double in the store compared to its painfully low grey market price, that it is extremely close to one of my all-time favorites (“Royal Oud”), that it doesn’t smell like copper at all. All irrelevant. “Copper” is magical to me, as if an additional field in English had been added to it…

If I could only wear and buy perfume from one brand for the rest of my life, it would probably be Comme des Garcons. I’ve said this many times and I stand by it. An absolute exception house in terms of quality, creativity, and quantity in the unmatched no-man's-land between designer and niche. And “Copper” is another milestone in this noble house for my taste. Special, almost indescribable. More the thought and the mental imagery of copper than the actual scent of the brown-matte metal. Sunscreen from the marketing book comes closer to its core. But there is so much more, its depth circles around the competition. Sometimes dry sand in the summer sun, near Tauer. Sometimes green spices full of finesse and flair. A chameleon yet with a clear line. Sometimes also that juicy red wine quality of the aforementioned Creeds. A galbanum beast in any case. Versatile and never even slightly boring. Fascinating and fabulous. Hip but not forced. Cool and all completely natural. Named perhaps copper, but in value to me rather gold. Creamy. Synthetics done right once again. Metal that is soft to the touch. Wearable year-round. Dreamy vegetable counter. Most ideal for autumn. Addictive tobacco. Sweet, non-sticky. Alien vanilla. A bit of Burberry “London For Men.” It’s hard to get more enthusiasm than this.

Bottle: great color, fitting texture, very handy shape
Sillage: not overpowering, not underwhelming
Longevity: 9 hours - just right!

Bottle: very good. No, close to a masterpiece. “Copper” is interesting, delicious, sunny, different, creative, green, metallic, fine, high-quality, artistically valuable. And completely Comme des Garcons. Stars.

Copper was "inspired by the idea of lying in the grass next to someone wearing excessive suntan lotion"
When I spray Copper, I find the scent somewhat unpleasant - metallic is accurate, but not like iron, something different. After a while, the tobacco scent emerges, like dried tobacco leaves or unlit cigars - also something green like bamboo. After some time, the scent becomes more pleasant, very powdery, like those blue Felce Azzurra products. I really love this powdery aspect - unfortunately, it shifts back to the tobacco scent after a while - stronger on the skin than on clothing, on clothing it remains powdery. For me, the fragrance would be brilliant if the powdery note would prevail and the tobacco scent would stay in the background. However, this scent is interesting nonetheless.

Exactly what I expected from a niche fragrance by CDG.
I am writing my first comment for a reason. The scent has already been aptly described here. I have been wearing Copper for about 14 days now and have never been approached so often about any other fragrance, all in a positive way. This culminated in the aforementioned occasion and the surely not entirely serious request from a particularly nice waitress to please let her lick my neck once. Copper is sexy and does exactly what a niche fragrance of this quality should do! - Disturbing, confusing, fascinating - desirable, almost intrusive, but extraordinary. My fragrance for this summer. Thank you very much!

Heavy grainy iris. I’m surprised it isn’t listed as a note as it’s the main player.
