A staple among the best ghalias ever made

This fragrance teleports me to ancient times, when perfumes were anything but oily balms, to be used in sacred rituals and ceremonies.
Needles to say that this is for me like a drug. It’s very hard to find another dense, dirty and animal Oud like this. But this creation is not only that.
The best naturals, deer musk, civet and ambergris as carriers, lead the way to the finest selection of taif roses, cananga, champaca and Jasmine flowers, with just a chiaroscuro of sweet, airy and fruity aromas, courtesy of blackcurrant, lavender, violets and honey tinctures, not to mention the crunchiness of peppers and hojari frankincense, just to take a beathe before diving into the darkest sea you can imagine, with a superb smoke mélange of Na Trang, Merauke and bengali ouds, intertwined by great oriental balms, such as Benzoin, opoponax, styrax, labdanum, sandalwood, vanilla, oakmoss, patchouli, castoreum.
Dark Matter has next day longevity and impressive sillage.
One of the best ghalias ever made and a staple in my collection.

Dark sexy and good

I ask my friend Mr. Profumo if this might be considered a Chypre, because of its stunning opening and incredibly sexy heart.

This might just be the dark Chypre:
Beautiful, masculine, sexy, unique, made with great raw materials, uncommon, and elegant.

It opens with pepper and clove, and I immediately sense castoreum, labdanum, and excellent oud.

Then it settles down into a floral and musky heart, always carried by that incredible oud.

Longevity is great, and projection is solid—

But that’s not even the most important thing.

What matters is that it feels rich, natural, and raw in the best possible way.

I just love it.

This space in which we lose ourselves is carried by thoughts of dark matter. Blurred traces of black soaps. Comets with tails of incense. Wandering in spheres of dense resins. Stars of cinnamon and cloves burning up. A silver streak from Szechuan. The periwinkle's cool breath. To warm worlds of pheromone furs. Heavy flakes of fleshy silks float from calyxes of champaka blossoms. Dark spring falls on rough floors of smoking bark and sand sticks. Mossy brown earths. Rose shadows in mists. Tissue fibers of sleeping animals. Remaining under the skin.

Elixir Attar from Los Angeles says it is constantly on the lookout for high-quality raw materials from Asia. Allegedly, they also use long-standing relationships in royal circles to obtain particularly rare materials. The small team relies on both traditional and modern knowledge in the production of their creations.
at first, "Dark Matter" seems as elusive as dark matter itself. Only gradually do the swirling spicy-hot (Szechuan pepper, cardamom, ginger, saffron), sour (currant), light-resinous (Omani frankincense) and flowing dark (deer musk, labdanum, oakmoss) aromas come into order, sometimes associated with black soap (oakmoss, oud ash) and soon sandalwood incense sticks (sandalwood, champaca). Soon fleshy flowers (jasmine), then warm pheromones (deer musk) seem more present, in a dark resinous (labdanum, styrax, benzoin, opoponax, mastic) universe, which carries subtle vanilla-tobacco traces, but above all countless clove sparks like twinkling stars. Now and again, delicate roses appear in a veil. Gradually, the resins dry down to woody, smoky oud chips, to earthy mosses, until after many hours only animalistic, leathery tissue remains. A small masterpiece, clear to moderate and full-length projection, in which there are new facets to discover each time.
