Elixir Attar is a perfume brand founded in the USA by Egyptian-born perfumer Ahmed Mostafa, whose roots lie in his childhood in Abu Dhabi in the 1980s. Influenced by the everyday presence of incense, oud, and the traditional scents of Indian spices widely used in the Emirates, Mostafa developed a keen sensitivity to smells at an early age, which was further sharpened by his access to high-quality incense woods and perfumes.

After graduating with a degree in chemistry, he studied materials science and engineering for several years, completed his master's degree, and worked as an engineer for several years before changing direction and working as a diplomat from 2012 to 2017. During his career change, Mostafa dedicated himself with increasing intensity to researching natural fragrances and sourcing hard-to-find raw materials.

His intensive study of organic chemistry, his critical stance toward the dominance of synthetic molecules in modern perfumery, and his extensive experimental work with rare natural raw materials led him to focus professionally on perfumery in 2018 and to found Elixir Attar in 2019, although some fragrances had already been released before the official founding.
