A vibrant and lively floral scent and a bit complex
Cestrum Nocturnum - This scent is quite complex and has taken me some time to understand a bit.
The fragrance opens with a vibrant and lively combination of peach accord, ripe raspberry, Sichuan pepper, and ginger. Initially, the scent is somewhat dense and animalic to my nose, which I believe is due to the presence of Siberian musk and various types of Oud used. However, after a few minutes, the opening notes begin to settle.
As the fragrance unfolds, the heart reveals a rich bouquet of floral notes, featuring jasmine (which has a slightly vintage quality to my nose), tuberose, osmanthus, and neroli. Additionally, the majmua, with its incense-earthy character, is quite prominent in the heart of the fragrance.
The base of Cestrum Nocturnum is musky, balsamic, incensy, slightly spicy, and slightly woody. The ambergris plays a more supportive role here, adding a refreshing touch to the entire composition.
Overall, Cestrum Nocturnum is a fascinating and multi-layered fragrance that offers a unique and evolving olfactory experience.
