Kalevala Elixir Attar 2017

This scent opens with a beautiful realistic pine needles and supported by gentle birch tar. There’s a soft berry nuance underneath, with cranberry giving it nice tart and very subtle sourness to it. The overall impression is calm and authentic, almost as if you can truly feel the pine needles and forest air rather than just smelling them. This truly reminds like being in Finnish cottage and smelling the forests unique scents. Its realistic as it can get.

This is my first Elixir Attar scent and its perfect introduction to artisanal world. And I'm glad i managed to get a hold of this scent.

First i have to mention. I have been told by elixir attar that there is two different version of this parfum. the difference is between sweetness. the second one being more sweet than the first version.
and my review is based on the second version of the composition.

The opening is Burst of berries and pine composition. and thats where i think the difference in sweetness is the berries being more sweet yet this is still not something i would consider sweet at all.

when it dryes down it transitions from the berries and pine to more earthy floral and birch smell. at this point its not sweet at all and has hints of smokyness on it. it stays like this till the end and to me its good thing. i like the berries and pine opening but i prefer the earthy floral with birch much more.

It truely stand for its name. the scent is purely something you can smell on finnish forest/countryside.

Overall very nice scent smell wise but the longetivity unfortsunetly is little let down sillage not being strong is not big deal for me i just wish it lasted bit longer.

Inspired by the Ukon Juhla, an ancient Finnish pagan feast dedicated to the god Ukko, a celebration that is now known as Juhannus, this perfume is a hymn to our closeness to nature and takes its name from a Finnish epic poem.
Kalevala - this is the third version of the perfume - speaks of our link and mutual dependence with the earth, with trees and fruits, speaks of human needs that become part of our spirituality. And it does it with whispers and echoes of plants, berries and distant bonfires.
The opening is a very well blended accord of pine needles and fruity notes. The fruity part is initially the more prominent one, but slowly it merges with the greenest, balsamic and pungent smell of pine needles, a smell that will always remain soft and balanced without overpowering the fruity part.
From here, going towards the heart, the perfume will become intimate, it will feel like a music that can be listened to from afar, without assailing the senses and letting itself be appreciated in its lightness, creating a truly evocative atmosphere.
In the heart, the fruity and syrupy notes leave room for the forest and earthy notes, then develops in a more flowery and woody smell with resinous shades, without completely abandoning its initial character.
It is a light and airy perfume that lasts a lot, returning continuously as an echo.
I would see it on a hypothetical druid, on a dreamy person who finds refuge in nature.

A very interesting self revealing composition.
Once sprayed very tamed , it settles down into something very intimate yet articulated and rich.
I sense berries and pine in the opening turning into a smoky , incense .
Floral notes appear as base notes ( at least to my nose ) with a beautiful gardenia lily of the valley mix .Very sexy in the overall!!!
