Like a Day with Pina Colada Overdose

Paradisiacal is the scent with very soft coconut. It smells to me like a creamy and sugary Pina Colada, without calories. It is sweet and becomes powdery in the base. Actually, the fragrance fits better in the summer, but to satisfy the longing for the next warm rays of sunshine, it is just right for autumn & winter. Ideal for coconut junkies and lovers of sweet, creamy scents.

If you like Pina Colada - la la la...

“Like a day in paradise” I received for free as a 10 ml bottle for testing upon its release. Shortly after spraying it on, I had only one thought: Pina Colada! At that point, I didn't know the fragrance pyramid and was firmly convinced I was smelling coconut and pineapple. However, there is actually no pineapple in it! I guess the peach combined with the apple creates the fruity note. A peach-apple-colada, so to speak. Although I actually prefer the pseudo-pineapple!

The scent starts with a burst of coconut milk, surprisingly little alcohol, and a tropical fruit mix. When I close my eyes, I see myself on a white Caribbean beach, the sun blazing down from the sky, in the distance I hear the sounds of merengue, and I’m holding a delicious Pina Colada in my hand... There it is again, the Pina Colada. I just can't shake it off. But it doesn't bother me, because it embodies summer and Caribbean vibes for me! By the way, it remains consistent; the scent hardly changes.

To be honest, I don't like most essence fragrances. They always have a strange, dull note in the base. This scent is clearer, sweet, almost a bit sticky. And it wants to be worn in warm temperatures and sunshine. The ambiance has to be right! I probably won't repurchase the fragrance once I’ve finished it. Among other reasons, the longevity is too poor for me: after 2, at most 3 hours, I have to reapply. Until then, I enjoy the tropics and dream myself to snow-white beaches!

Summer Feeling

Especially when the weather is as terrible as it is today, with storms and rain, a fragrance like Like a day in Paradise is just what you need.

Upon spraying, it immediately starts off fruity, and I am surprised that there is no pineapple listed in the fragrance pyramid, as I can clearly smell it. The mix of other fruity notes probably creates this scent impression. I can also distinctly smell coconut right from the start. And indeed, in a milky way. This, combined with the fruits, likely gives off that Pina Colada vibe. One can easily imagine sitting on the beach sipping a cocktail under the palm trees. Personally, however, the scent reminds me more of my favorite cocktail "Swimming Pool" than of Pina Colada (sorry, I currently don't know how to type that accent over the n).

However, I find the scent not refreshing-fruity at all, but warm-fruity, like one of the aforementioned cocktails that has been sitting in the sun for a while or like a lightly fruity and coconut-scented sunscreen.

Towards the end (for me, about 5-6 hours later), the fragrance develops a warm-woody base, where I again detect a crayon note, as with most essence fragrances.

All in all, I find the scent successful; it makes you long for summer, beach, and nice weather. And when the latter is not present, like today, at least you can conjure up a piece of summer feeling with it :).

Fruity Coconut Shake

I find this scent really very nice but rather for next year in spring and summer.

I actually wanted to test this just because of the coconut milk, fruity scents are not really my thing, but here it is quite pleasant.

I think you can smell rhubarb, apple, vanilla, and coconut milk the best; especially the rhubarb note is quite fruity and also slightly fresh, which is surely enhanced a bit by the lemon. The apple spreads quite quickly and transitions to the vanilla-coconut milk. It is a lovely fruity coconut milk scent.

And somehow the scent also seems familiar to me, I just haven't figured out what scent it could resemble....

I will definitely wear this scent but only again next year. ;-)
For the price, a beautiful fragrance.

The longevity is around 3-4 hours, so that's quite okay.

So off to the dark cool closet for hibernation ;-)

Sweet & Powdery

The top note, only from the bottle, is indefinable. Somewhere between light, sweet, and fruity, with a slight ethanol touch.

Upon application, the scent takes a turn. It becomes sweet, powdery, and a fruity, warm coconut remains (which vaguely reminds me of vanilla).

The fragrance is somewhat one-dimensional and doesn't particularly like my skin. Nevertheless, the scent is not bad, but it doesn't stick in my memory.

Certainly an interesting fragrance for the price. Nothing I would repurchase, but something I will probably finish using (with 7ml, not so hard :) I just wanted to test the essense scents since the packaging is so girly).
