a small, simple, private feel-good scent
I wanted to try a drugstore fragrance today - because there's so much good to read here about "Like a Day in a Candy Shop," and out of pure curiosity. I'm also currently in my "sweet phase," so why not? At a price of 2.95E, it's definitely not a loss. And one shouldn't be put off by the low price ;)

Sprayed it on quickly, in the crook of my arm, I smell some alcohol, but that fades quickly. Then a small, sweet-fresh floral accord, lilac and heliotrope above all, not unpleasant at all, fruit doesn't come through much for me. Since the scent isn't particularly long-lasting, the base comes through quickly: powdery, bitter vanilla with a hint of tonka bean, becoming more pleasant the longer it's on, very intimate and unobtrusive, somewhat background and soft. It's a small, simple private feel-good scent, nothing grand, but very nice. For a winter afternoon at home, it accompanies you through the dreary, gray January hours and contributes a bit to lifting the mood, like a nice cup of cocoa. Nothing more and nothing less. And that's perfectly okay.

Marshmallows in the Swimwear Department
Yes, the title sounds quite quirky again. But I’m just writing down my feelings and associations as always :).

Back when the essence fragrances first hit the market, I was most interested in "Candy Shop." The scent notes sounded delicious (they still do), and I have always loved gourmand fragrances the most. The scent itself already sounds like a really nice treat.

And it is delicious, but I would categorize it more as a cuddle scent. I detect musk, heliotrope, tonka bean, and vanilla. The whole thing is underlined with a bit of powder and a tiny hint of fruitiness from the peach.
Right at the beginning after spraying it on, and here it comes, the scent reminds me of a freshly opened bag of marshmallows in a swimwear department. The fragrance actually has something in my nose reminiscent of swimsuits and bikinis just hung on the rack, coming straight from the stockroom, with a very slight plastic-polyester vibe... And then there’s this powdery-vanilla marshmallow scent.

Please don’t get me wrong, I like the scent :). It just doesn’t remind me at all of a typical candy shop or of candies, lollipops, cotton candy, etc.

Sillage and longevity are average for me. I think it’s good for cuddling on the couch, a cozy evening, or on colder days; in my opinion, it’s actually suitable for year-round wear, as long as it’s not over 20 °C.

Cotton Candy Rose
This little guy is my personal favorite from the essence range. At first, it startles with an alcoholic sweet synthetic mix that evaporates after a short time. Following that is a soft sweetness that lets you drift on cotton candy clouds. Lilac and orchid gently accompany the journey, meeting tonka bean and vanilla. I personally find it cool, yet friendly. Suitable for winter and spring, it lasts 2-3 hours on me, and even up to 5 hours when wearing a sweater or scarf (totally fine for the price). I've even received positive comments on it quite often ^.^

Simply beautiful
I was initially very skeptical about the Essence fragrances because I'm not a big fan of the brand in general and expected something like those small teenage scent waters from various other drugstore house brands.
It’s all the more surprising how good this one is!
At first, there is a very synthetic, alcoholic note that quickly dissipates..
and then something sweet remains, but not that cheap 0815-vanilla, rather something better, powdery, almost a bit dusty.
To me, it doesn’t smell floral at all, even though the fragrance pyramid suggests otherwise.
It’s a shame that the scent is relatively weak, and unfortunately, it doesn’t last long on me, and I’m also sure that it doesn’t change or develop much on my skin. However, I don’t find that problematic because it simply smells incredibly good.
I’ve never gone through 5ml so quickly, but at that price (10ml for 3 Euro or 50ml for 7 Euro), it’s definitely manageable ;-)

A Touch of Schokiiii
~ Inspiration ~
When these Essence perfumes hit the market, a friend of mine told me about them. She said they are great for everyday use because they smell good and are inexpensive. I also read the comparison to Prada Candy here and decided to test the fragrance.

~ Bottle ~
The shape is inspired by Chanel Chance. It looks appealing, with purple writing, candies, and colorful stripes. This design probably appeals more to younger girls.

~ Scent ~
Upon spraying, I initially get a note of alcohol, which quickly dissipates. What remains is a warm, chocolatey scent. Given the name, I expected a sweeter fragrance, but it smells to me like chocolate ice cream with vanilla sauce.

~ Longevity ~
On my skin, it doesn't last long at all. After about 1-2 hours, it has unfortunately almost completely vanished (on clothing and hair, it lasts a bit longer). However, it is very subtle, and you really have to spray quite a bit to smell anything at all. It’s more of a light fragrance, even a step below Eau de Cologne (if such a thing exists).

~ Occasion ~
It can be worn very well during the day since it is not overpowering. A feel-good scent that leaves a sweet trace behind. I like such fragrances in the autumn/winter when you want to smell nice, but a proper perfume feels like too much at the moment.

~ Conclusion ~
For this price, you can't complain, but you often have to reapply. I can't make a direct comparison to Prada, except that it also has a gourmand and sweet scent, but is much more subtle and chocolatey.

Very sweet lilac cotton candy.
Very dry and extremely powdery
Could be so beautiful, but unfortunately it's way too close to the skin for me.

Synthetic fruits with delicate flowers + lots of dry sweet powder on tonka bean clean musk. It was powdered + polished in the candy shop.

I don't find it "Candy" at all. It's a light scent of vanilla and heliotrope.

Love the scent! One of the few sweet fragrances that isn't too sweet and wraps someone in softness. Too bad it's no longer available..

The worst fragrance I've rated so far, because I can't smell anything. Absolutely nothing. A big, wet nothing when sprayed on.

Sweet, powdery, warm, vanilla - it doesn't remind me of candies, but rather of a bag of white marshmallows with a slight polyester note.

A dream of cotton candy and vanilla. Not bad for such an affordable scent. Lasts on me 6-8 hours.

Liquid cotton candy dream, a fleeting pleasure, but quite high in calories.
