Woody nefs
When I saw the ratings for this fragrance I was disappointed to see how low it’s scored by some people . I think ratings between 1 and 4 is just hilarious. They don’t understand how fragrances work. Zero respect for this masterpiece and the hard work made by the perfumer. If it’s not your personal preference, that’s fine but scoring 1 or 2 says a lot about your knowledge. Every fragrance has its time and place . Respect it !

This fragrance reminds me of nishane nefs . The juicy fig and tolu balsem combo is to die for . Silky woods elixer is a multi dimensional fragrance that changes over time and when you think it doesn’t get better , it does . Sweet ,sexy , woody and balsamic at its finest. What an amazing experience guys . This house uses the best quality Australian essential oils and ingredients. Nothing smells synthetic! If you haven’t tried this gem, I highly recommend you do so .

Silky woods elixer can definitely be worn by both men and women. I wouldn’t recommend you to wear it in hot summer days but beautiful cold autumn or winter days . Get ready for the complements.

Thank you very much beautiful Australia

Smoky, deep, fig-vanilla follow-up to the original
Silky Woods Elixir is the most recent release from Goldfield & Banks from late 2023 and a spiritual successor to the original Silky Woods that was released in 2021. My experience of it is dominated by a smoky vanilla accord, vaguely related to the boozy vanilla accord of the original Silky Woods, but darker, less acerbic, and more pronounced overall, with a robust fig note that pairs nicely with the vanilla. It has various resins involved as well, which give it a range of powdery, standardly resinous, smoky, and even a touch animalic bits to it, a lot of complexity and nuance overall, with plenty to be discovered.

Performance-wise, it’s certainly denser and richer than the original Silky Woods, and is probably the strongest-performing fragrance in the entire catalogue. Fittingly, it’s at a higher price point than any other perfume in the Goldfield & Banks catalogue currently, at $295/58 for 100/10ml, a notch higher than the higher-end Botanical Series (that includes the original Silky Woods) and quite a bit higher than the main collection (that includes Pacific Rock Moss, Bohemian Lime, etc.). Still, $3 / ml is not absurd and I love the option of the 10ml travel size for more liberal testing, even if the travel size pricing is $6 / ml. Certainly better to have the option.

Overall, I love it and it has the added benefit of making me appreciate the differences in the original, the more strident, sharp, lighter aspects of the original and the darker, smokier density of the Elixir.

Sensual vanilla oud
Goldfield & Banks’ Silky Woods Elixir feels like being wrapped in a soft, golden light. It opens with the warmth of saffron and fig, a rich sweetness that immediately draws you in. It’s the kind of scent that feels comforting yet luxurious, like walking into a cozy room filled with flickering candles. As it settles, the soft powder of orris and the smoky depth of guaiac wood emerge, creating a beautiful balance between light and dark, softness and strength. The real magic happens in the base, where oud and vanilla come together in a deep, creamy harmony. It’s both sensual and grounding, a scent that lingers on your skin like a secret. Silky Woods Elixir is for those quiet, intimate moments when you want to feel enveloped in warmth and mystery. It’s a fragrance that speaks in whispers, leaving an impression that’s as unforgettable as it is tender.

Don't understand the hype
At the beginning a bomb of edgy oud, leather and vanilla. Then becomes rounder, somewhat woody-smoky with a little spiciness. Takes a little while to develop fully. At the end there is little smoke, with some sweet resin. Nice fall/winter fragrance with a good longevity of 6-7h that doesn't quite live up to its hype. Reminds me a bit of Replica - By the Fireplace.

Original better than the flanker
I have to say that I am quite disappointed, even though the original is so good. The scent that destroys the fragrance is Peru balsam. Although I understand why one might use such a note, it will never be clear to me why anyone would want to smell like BALSAM. Unfortunately, this note is just too overpowering and overrides everything else wonderful about the original. You can do it, but you don't have to.

A wood, balsamic bomb with a blend of fig boosted by musk stop it from being overwhelming. It's strangely comforting, like a blanket.

Original SW's woodiness with added oud (leathery tone), making it masc. Prominent fig for first 1h, not much vanilla. Performance is subpar.

The original DNA but wrapped in chocolatey patchouli and dry vanilla. Slightly gourmand-ish, but long lasting and captivating. Completely unisex.
