I Completely love this. The best "spring" scent i've ever smelled. It's all floral, but not feminine. It's very green, and it has a green spiciness to it, that keeps it from going feminine, like floral fragrances can do. It has a perfect unisex balance, and is more a direct portrait of spring itself. I tested it with an oficial decant, and ordered it the same day. It's one of those scents i can't help but Need in my already too large collection. To be able to experience spring at any time, is worth the price of a full bottle imo. The price isn't bad either. I say OK price. Worth the money for the quality ingredients and high level of blending.

Very green, herbal. Underneath some flowery, aromatic, and a spicy note is pushing through. I don't agree with the accord scale going that high on aromatics, as it's mostly greens and herbs on my skin. Maybe it's different on other people. I don't know.

The best way to describe it without talking about notes is, the scent of spring. Flowers, grass, and a light almost fluffy air.
It doesn't smell like "GIT (Green Irish Tweed)", but it has the same kind of idea. "GIT" gives me the spring/summer closer to the coast line feeling. While "SIB (Spring In Bome)" is more inland. Both are enchanting and timeless. Although GIT is more soapy and a masculine scent, SIB is a pure unisex and doesn't give me a soapy vibe at all.

It's a casual to Semi-formal daytime wear for spring and/or summer. Work friendly, date worthy, and anything in between. But perfect for an indoors day in winter, with the heat up and when you're longing for spring. Any gender and age. It's Not sweet, but it's light and gentle.

Lasts 4-6 hours. Projects fine, but not great. I tested at home during early winter. So it will probably project a lot better in the sun with more movement (basically all summer fragrances does).

Personal score: 9.9/10. I was blown away. This Is spring in a bottle. 0.1 a point comes of for performance. I would have loved for it to project and last a little longer. But if it would upset the balance of the fragrance, i wouldn't change a thing. Scent wise, it is Perfect.

Revelation for Galbanum Lovers
Delphine Thierry, known to some of us as a perfumer at Lubin and thus the nose behind, for example, Akaad, takes us with the scents of Hima jomo from the French Mediterranean coast around Grasse to the heights of the Himalayas and its special atmosphere.

While I was disappointed by "Himalaya" from Creed, which dedicated such a pleasing scent to the mightiest mountain range in the world, reminding me more of the lovely regions of our Alps, I feel a completely different approach with the first spray of "Spring in Bome." Here, the still icy coolness of spring in, for example, Tibet or Nepal is painted in an olfactory image that immediately commands my reverence for the seat of the gods.

The top note will likely brush against all those who associate spring with lily of the valley, romance, or lovely floral scents. This spring here is powerful, almost a bit harsh, but no less in a state of awakening and a tribute to the majesty of the area and the resurrection of nature after the long and, in the Himalayas, still icy winter.

But to all the anxious souls who might dismiss it from the outset, it must be said: Elegance and dignity, calmness in the soul, and almost a little invitation to meditation are not lacking in "Spring in Bome." This is already promised by the warm yet professional manner of Delphine Thierry, which one could get to know in the 360° video "Eccentrics of Scents." I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

The rather serious impression of the scent is, despite the flowers in the pyramid, nevertheless predominant throughout. But even in the dry down, the bitter notes are, so to speak, refined with a floral scent. The spikenard is rarely used, but here I particularly like it, as - by the way, also with the tuberose in the heart note - the boundary to stuffiness or heaviness is never crossed.

Now all that remains for me is to curb my impatience and spend the day with Spring in Bome before I turn to the other seasons in the Himalayas. I can only recommend the brand's sample set, and I suspect that my collection will expand with one or another scent from the brand.

Addendum on 2.7.2022: The order is placed, and the price for the discovery set will be credited against the price of the scent. I like Spring in Bome the best of the series, but I also recommend testing the other scents. Delphine Thierry has focused on using sustainable ingredients for these new perfumes, giving the scents a very special flair.

Why wilt thou go, my harassed heart?
A few more steps, then she would tear the silly bonnet from her head and let the wind tug at her curls. Emily's green dress had snagged as she climbed over the wooden gate. Out, just out! As if the heath and the moor were calling her.
How tight the heart became in such a dark room, no matter how far the sky might be!

“I have to remind myself to breathe-almost to remind my heart to beat”

With the force of the rough wind, which whipped resin-glittering dew drops and ice crystals alike from harsh grasses, the rising storm slowly settled in her soul. Between the bitter heather, delicate white flowers sprouted. Even where the wind-whipped trees helplessly crouched against the hills.

“There is a spot, mid barren hills,
Where winter howls, and driving rain;
But if the dreary tempest chills,
There is a light that warms again.”

There, where soft moss nestled against rough rock, lapwing eggs slumbered in their nest. Emily pulled the coarse wool scarf tighter around her narrow shoulders. Dove gray like her eyes, the shapes of the clouds faded into the horizon. Cold air rushed into her lungs.

“The storm is fast descending,
And yet I cannot go.”

Coughing, she climbed the hill, facing the wind, the scent of the roaring heath devoid of any voice of reason that could have whispered to her to return to the parsonage - until she finally managed to make out a blurred silhouette in the distance.

If grief for grief can touch thee,
If answering woe for woe,
If any truth can melt thee
Come to me now!

**

Spring in Bome is a scent far removed from all spring clichés. Those looking for delicate floral scents or a romantic, warm spring rain will not find it here. It is a harsh, wild, bitter green fragrance, as uncompromising as the relentless aspects of early spring, whether on the steep slopes of the Himalayas or in the rugged nature of Yorkshire - and that is exactly what makes it so unique and beautiful! I am particularly taken with the top note featuring the overdosed galbanum and mastic resin, in which something else, absolutely irresistible, resonates that I have never smelled before. I have to hold myself back from constantly reapplying!
As it develops, green, slightly velvety geranium leaves join in, a hint of iris provides texture, leading to a base of rough vetiver with soft moss. I only perceive abstract flowers on the periphery; I cannot identify tuberose, and I have no idea what spikenard smells like.

A fragrance made for Emily Brontë.
The pastor's daughter with the storm-tossed soul and tuberculosis-ridden body would have suited Spring in Bome perfectly.

That's beautiful - and a little different
Beautiful and a little different. This delights those of us who enjoy sniffing a fragrance that is slightly unconventional. And would also like to wear it.

Right from the top note, "Spring in Bome" has a bit of a rebelliousness, a “What is that?”. Caraway was already mentioned in Momo's review and - yes! - I smell it too, it has a scent - embedded in a strong green top note (which manages to be both vividly green and softly muted) that is a bit bitter, a bit prickly, and a bit herbal like medicinal herbs, and indeed also caraway. Since caraway is not listed, I attribute this edge to the tarragon.

At this point, "Spring in Bome" does everything right - at least for me: If the fragrance itself, or even just this medicinal aspect, were a bit denser and pastier - just a tad perhaps - I might not want to wear "Spring in Bome" anymore, it would probably feel a bit too experimental and perhaps also too deliberate.

However, this spicy edge is a refined, small, and muted, yes brownish counterpart to the intense galbanum green. The top note is noticeable but remains airy and transparent - really beautiful.

This little top note hook seemed somewhat familiar to me. I pondered a bit, but I believe I have narrowed down my scent memory: It is a Lehmann fragrance, the serious and beautiful "Reseda", which also starts with a massive green storm along with a peculiar caraway and herbiness, but later becomes significantly more floral, straighter, and much easier to grasp than "Spring in Bome". Both remain serious, sober, unexcited, and very mature. And both have this twist.

Back to "Spring in Bome": As we move to the heart note, the small herbal edge loses some of its prominence, instead I perceive, alongside the now clearly dimmed and tamed green, a floating layer of quiet and serious flowers. By the way, the tuberose holds back quite a bit. I always thought I could sniff out any tuberose, no matter how tamed, from anything: Here, that is not the case. I rather perceive the reserved fresh-floral geranium.

Regarding the beautiful brightness described by Sebastian: The fragrance floats and has an exceedingly friendly airy aura. However, I never perceive it as sweet, not even through the vetiver, but rather cheerful and affectionate.

However, the fragrance also becomes very quiet for me quite quickly, almost a bit too quiet (and when I say this, I find the current trend towards monstrous scent bombs incredibly bizarre), then, yes, then it is indeed a very quiet fragrance.

Whether my surroundings are even able to perceive the last remnants of the heart note, let alone the hint of the base note, which I can only still detect with my nose directly on my skin... I do not know.

Shall I tell you something: I am not interested in that either. "Spring in Bome" is one of those intimate treasures that one simply wears for oneself.

Many thanks at this point to Sebastian, you have truly made me happy with the sample. And sparked my desire to write a review again.

Radiant Spring Day After the Storm
The summary first: We have here a galbanum burst on serious vetiver with lovely flowers and golden warm reflections. Resin, oily spikenard, and moss provide a soft bed.

As you can see, I don't find Spring in Bome as fresh and roaring as one might expect based on previous reviews and statements, as well as my idea of spring in the high mountains. Fortunately, I like it much better than my expectation: This is a beautiful fragrance! Situated somewhere in the triangle of three of my favorite greens, namely Fathom V, Vétiver Bourbon, and Yerbamate, it radiates a serious yet light-hearted serenity after the tumultuous galbanum-tarragon spring storm has settled. Then, everywhere there is loveliness and sweetness, a sense of inner calm, but no heaviness. Soft green with bitter nuances is always present. The real standout feature is the warm resin and especially the delicious spikenard. It balances out the roughness of the vetiver, and in the base, I smell sweet-balsamic and earthy facets. Spring of Bome has an inner glow. How lovely for a spring fragrance!

The projection is weak after the initial burst, and the perfume has low longevity: 3 sprays (from a 5 ml glass TZ) were gone after 5 hours. Nevertheless, it is more durable than I initially thought: sometimes I wanted to reapply, only to notice it again. According to brand information, Spring of Bome consists of 96% natural ingredients, which could negatively impact longevity, just as it may positively influence the depth and complexity of the scent.

I not only enjoy this fragrance on myself, but I also find it extremely attractive: I would love to be in the company of someone wearing it. (In very close company, considering the projection, perhaps sipping tea in the garden amidst spring flowers after work.) As my sample comes to an end, I will certainly replace it with a bottle. The scent of Spring in Bome is one that I immediately miss as soon as it is gone.

Interesting niche. Galbanum-mastic gives a greenish, rubbery hue. Tuberose enhances the meaty, green moss base.
