Warm fruit stored in the barn
With its Angkor fragrance, Insolitum Odores is launching a very special combination that I have never smelled before.

The fragrance is warm, soft, fruity and oudy. A fragrance with rough edges that are pleasing. No note is too dominant and stands out.

Angkor starts warm and sweetish, also fruity. Strawberry and pear are easy to perceive. And it takes less than 10 minutes for the oud to appear. I thought to myself...what does this smell like...quite a tight, stalky oud in my opinion. You have to like that and it's certainly not to everyone's taste, but it doesn't detract from the fragrance. On the contrary, it makes it even more interesting.
The raspberry, banana, rose and saffron keep the fragrance fruity and sweet.

Light leather and amber etc. bring the fragrance to a close.

For special occasions certainly worth a try, whether it is suitable for everyday and office use I leave open. Definitely worth a test. Wearable for men or women alike.

Anyone who likes fruity-sweet oud is in good hands here.

Longevity and sillage could be better.

Quite exciting with its rough edges
Angkor is a fragrance that has its rough edges.
There will probably be some people out there who don't like it at all. Then again, there will probably also be people who totally celebrate it.
You should get involved with the topic and then see whether it appeals to you or not.

Angkor starts with fruity notes in combination with some rose. Among the fruity notes, I would mention the strawberry and pear first and foremost.
But there is also a certain animalic quality. You honestly have to be into that.
Otherwise, this fragrance is not for you. It's not that there's an absolutely animalistic cow barn scent here, but it does have certain traits that have noticeable rough edges. The oud from the base is therefore already relatively strong.

The whole thing changes a little over time. The fragrance becomes more and more "pleasing". The oud becomes noticeably softer. You can still sense the fruity notes, but they are significantly reduced. A pleasant patchouli accord, as well as the oakmoss, now emerge more intensely from the story. Somehow, the fragrance now also seems a little "refreshed". Totally crazy, but I actually get a slightly "fresh" impression over time. Wherever this impression may come from. But I really like it!
Towards the end, there is also a noticeable leather note.

The longevity on my skin is around eight hours and the projection is also good.
Is the fragrance wearable unisex?
Basically yes, but the oud might not appeal to some women and "drive them away".

All in all, a solid fragrance that is beautifully made, but has those noticeable rough edges.
Unfortunately, Angkor doesn't quite meet my personal taste.
It was the last fragrance from the brand that I tested.
In conclusion, I probably like the Tonka Nube the best. But fragrances are always subjective and that's a good thing!

A dream
I wear Angor. And honestly, I've been looking for just such a fragrance for a long time and finally found it.

From the very first spray, there is this WOW effect.
A mixture of fresh fruit, pear, strawberry, grapefruit hits directly, but then something deeper comes through. A very slight hint of oud, a little animalic and a certain smokiness.
Not too much, more like a shadow under the freshness, a dark shadow
That makes it exciting for me, not just sweet or fruity, but with character.

After a few minutes, the fragrance becomes rounder. Warmer. Raspberry, banana, cardamom... all soft, slightly spicy. The rose is there, but very subtle, not as clinical as it often is; it adds a certain elegance. And then this fine saffron, but it gives the whole thing a special touch. I feel really comfortable with it, relaxed but present.

What remains is deep and pleasant. Amber, oud, a hint of leather, caramel, musk, patchouli. This base is exactly my thing - warm, creamy, a little woody. Not intrusive, but familiar. Like something that simply belongs to me.

Angor is not a fragrance that screams and works.
I also find the name Totsl fitting.

If Jayavarman had a scent then it was this....
The fragrance "Angkor" opens with a gentle, slightly animalic oud - not acrid, not loud, but rather like you forgot to turn the ventilation on your car before driving past the "cowshed". However, this is quickly accompanied by a fruity component, which also rounds off the opening
The fruits in the opening are not clearly identifiable, which gives them a charmingly indefinable character. However, one note stands out clearly: banana. Unfortunately, it is rarely used in perfumery, but it works really well here and brings a certain exoticism into play. Over time, the fruit basket continues to unfold - pear, raspberry and redcurrant can be slowly filtered out with the nose without ever pushing themselves to the fore. It remains an interesting mosaic, not a clear line, and that is precisely what makes it so appealing.

Meanwhile, the oud remains present, but continues to develop. The initially rustic impression becomes increasingly softer, the animalistic element recedes. The leather joins in as a sort of supporting element, providing structure and a slightly dry undertone that goes well with the development of the fragrance.

This combination of oud, fruit and leather is reminiscent of creations such as Oud Maracujá or London Extrait de Parfum - but "Angkor" goes its own way. No particular fruity note takes center stage here. Instead, it remains deliberately open, mixed and lively. It is precisely this indecisiveness that makes it interesting - it does not commit itself.

The fact that oud from Cambodia is also used in a fragrance with the name "Angkor" is a cool detail.

Conclusion:
"Angkor" is a successful mix of animalic oud, fruity notes and dry leather. For me personally, it is the brand's most exciting fragrance - independent, edgy and yet wearable.
