Layering!

Let me start by saying, this fragrance is amazing on its own. It's zingy, tart, wet GREEEEEN, bright and even a little earthy. One of the best plant like fragrances. I've also found that on its own, while good, could use a little bit of something else to make it more wearable (a little sweetness in my mind). That where Vintage Green's sibling Linen Vetiver improves, it adds that needed sweetness for daily wear.

All that said, this fragrance is AMAZING for layering. If you have a fragrance that it a little one dimensional or perhaps too sweet/floral this adds a very significant and effective amount of green and zingy earthiness. My favorite fragrance to layer this with is Bal d'Afrique Eau de Parfum and just today I discovered that it layers so well with Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes Intense.

Overall I've never really smelled a fragrance that is THIS green. And quite frankly it deserves a smell, especially given how affordably this can be had for.

Good choice for summer

Banana Republic is well known for inexpensive fragrances with good quality and this one is no exception…

I have tried most of the line from witch this comes from and must say that this is my favorite.

This was part of my search for a great bergamot dominant fragrance and I wasn’t disappointed at first sniff.

For me this is more fresh than green as the name might suggests, the bergamot is quite prominent and it hints of Earl Gray tea. It’s bright and refreshing, but it doesn’t develop much on my skin.

The longevity is as expected with a freshie, so it could be better, even though I think it does pretty well considering the price - at this price it’s no problem to reapplying during the day…

For me this is a very good fragrance for warmer weather, it really smells amazing in the summer sun.

The DReaM tea.

Easily one of the best inexpensive designer freshies made in the last decade. Opens up with such a wonderful Ellena-esque, crisp bergamot and sweet fig that the comparison with Un Jardin en Mediterranee is unmistakable. Although the quality isn't exact, it's pretty close. Definitely a step above the usual designer level.

In a few minutes, the bergamot takes a backseat and a superbly comforting combo of jasmine, green tea and musk blend in with the sweet fig to give it a luxury soap vibe. I don't know why, but it has this unusual calming effect on me, as if I was 3 years old again and my grandmother was reading me a bedtime story. And although I would consider it 100% unisex, I can certainly see some men placing it in the feminine category owing to that sweet fig.

Personally, I would consider this a sweet tea scent. The bergamot is the kind you would find in earl grey tea; but flavour it with fig and add a dash of musk and you've got it. Absolutely no vetiver or woods to my nose. More aromatic, crisp, sweet and lovely. Very happy to say that performance is well above average when sprayed on clothing, because with 6-8 sprays, it projects well into the next DAY. Amazing stuff from a designer brand that isn't normally known for creating such great fragrances. This collection basically came out of left field. And to borrow the baseball analogy, 78VG is a homerun. Sucks that it's already been discontinued, because Banana Republic had a winner on their hands. Quality bottle, heavy cap, superb scent. Nuff said.

Reapply and refresh yourself!

Opens up with very natural juicy citruses.
After 5 minutes it is a pleasant green fresh scent.
Drys down to a slightly sweet fig on clean flowery background.

P. S.
Don’t search for a "green fig leaves scent", the fig here is the sweet fruit in the drydown.

Fresh cut grass, leaves and green fresh figs...

This is really nice. I got it at a discounter for half retail price and it smells really good. It is kind of generic maybe, but it is so nice, fresh, green. I could ask for nothing more considering the price.

I get fresh citrus at the top and after that greenness: grass, leaves, figs. Not milky like some other fig fragrances. This is so pleasant. When I smell the bottle there is a bit of a synthetic vibe, but this disappears on skin.

It does not stay long, but it is OK, especially in hotter weather. I would recommend this for lovers of green fragrances.
