clean ghost

Peach fuzz and white linen. Daydreamy, pure, cottony, ephemeral. There’s got to be a pale rose hiding in plain sight. Maybe it’s the wild orchid, but I’ve never registered much scent to any orchids I’ve met, wild or domesticated. I cannot find a whit of bergamot or sequoia. Like her siblings, she speaks at a whisper and has a mayfly lifespan. I feel like Liis fragrances are what I’d expect a beautiful, benevolent ghost to smell like, Floating especially.

Mental Snapshot: A chintzy boutique hotel, somewhere in the countryside. Your suite has frothy lace curtains and a cornucopia of decorative pillows, which always seem to find themselves artfully arranged back on your bed, even when you set them on the divan. A trolley arrives with breakfast on bone china, but you have yet to see any staff. Once you check out, you lose all memory of the place.

This isint the best way to begin a review, but I want to begin with mentioning that out of the hundreds of perfumes I’ve tried, this is the WORST performance I have ever experienced. It is ABSOLUTELY ABYSMAL, it fades as soon as it is applied. It is an in the moment, sensual and cozy fragrance. Like a quick pick-me-up fragrance for nice and clean feels. Now, the fragrance: it’s like putting on a full linen outfit after an everything shower and spritzing it with peach scented linen spray. Mentioning cleaning supplies when talking about a fragrance Isn’t particularly desirable, as it sounds like it’s synthetic and harsh, but on here, it gives it a beautiful peachy feel, radiant and juicy. Peach and linens. It’s gorgeous for the 30 seconds it lasts. Performance is absolutely god awful.

Clean Girl Gone Too Far

This fragrance doesn't have a story, its just a linear overly soapy floral. That orchid note is like laundry beads or dryer sheets turned to 11. I wish every other note listed were more prominent. The peach and bergamot would have been perfect cause they would break up the soap and add some citrus bite or sweetness. I would also say that Leila Lou from By / Rosie Jane is a better version of this. In Leila Lou, you can actually pick up the different notes of floral fruit and grass without anything overpowering the other, it tells a story.

This fragrance had weak projection and longevity. It lasted maybe 2 hours on my skin and it was just at the skin level. This fragrance goes for $175 for 50ml. Leila Lou goes for $80 for 50ml. I say ditch Floating and pick up the more affordable and frankly better fragrance of Leila Lou.

So, I'm imagining a second date. I'm picked up in an old pick-up and we take a trip into the countryside. To go for a long walk in warm, but not hot, weather.
I'm wearing the obligatory white T-shirt, jeans and sneakers.
That would be my perfect perfume for this.

The fragrance is fresh, unobtrusive and yet also attractive, because you always think. Hmmmm, what smells so pleasant here. Actually perfect, if the durability and sillage were better. They are both very poor.

Nevertheless, I bought the fragrance after one filling. Because it's really, really beautiful.

"Vivid. Some similarity to Musc 25 by Le Labo (plus fruit) and Sparkling Sugar by Clean. The fragrance is fresh, unobtrusive and yet also attractive, yet not perfect, as the longevity is relatively poor.
Feel-good fragrance. "Everything flows" or "Everything is in flux" would be the translation for Floating.
The optics and acoustics harmonize.
Fresh laundry, a good mood and cool morning air on a summer's day among the fruit trees. Thoughts are free, everything is effortless and flowing. Yes, synthetic, but beautiful and modern. Sequoie prevents this from being just another detergent fragrance.

This is what first love smells like: innocent, carefree and pure. I immediately think of the movie Call me by your name...
If a ray of light were a glass reflection of fragrance, it would be Floating. Ethereal, comforting. Most of Liis fragrances are more nuanced, fruity scents that are subtle, soft and feminine. Reminds me a little of a very toned down version of Valaya.
The fragrance is luminous / radiant, it feels like opening your eyes and seeing the sunrise. As it progresses, you smell a soft, clear air, longing and daydreams.
As a child, I loved biting into the juicy, beguiling peaches straight from the tree during my farm vacations, while the sweet nectar left a trail of pleasure on my skin.
Grandma's laundered sheets fluttered on the balmy summer breeze, the world stopped for a moment.
This scent is the image of a carefree day, the day ahead of us full of promise, the windows rolled down and the playlist on repeat.
It's a shame that it lasts from noon to midday, because this fragrance would otherwise be my favorite.
Even people who quickly have too much of a scent could wear this fragrance. You don't necessarily smell perfumed, but like a clean girl aesthetic. A minimalist fragrance, a little fresh, a little soapy, a little woody. And unfortunately gone straight away.
