Mendocino mist

An ethereal aromatic. My favourite Liis thus far. All the spa-time staples – eucalyptus, lavender, sage – drift about the party, but let blood orange and fig have their slow dance. I feel like these are usually potent, high-saturation notes so it’s lovely to see how they transform through Liis’s dreamy, greyscale lens. No coconut for me, but I agree it echoes of BBW Coconut Lime Verbena (my first love)! I think the creamy fig paired with the tangy blood orange creates the illusion of a lactonic. Performance is gentle, but one of strongest of the Liises I’ve tried (~6h in fabric).

Mental Snapshot: A kindly ghost, the spectral groundskeeper of a costal estate. She’s a bohemian nursemaid, a curious botanist, who enjoys her eternity nurturing the sprawling gardens and chaparral bluffs. They say she’s responsible for the little miracles about the place: plump figs budding from orange trees, vague faces in the whorls of eucalyptus bark.

Cozy Lavender-Vanilla

Sprayed at 3:40pm.

The top notes are coming in hot with what I’m interpreting as a green tea note, a blood orange note, and something creamy and lactonic. The projection is fantastic at this point. It’s bright and fresh, yet cozy in a way. Loving this so far!

We’re about 20 minutes in and there’s something a little aquatic about it, but in a subtle, kind of milky way. I have no idea what that means, lol. I’m definitely getting some tonka bean which I think is what is giving that creaminess.

1 hour in and I just love this! It’s evolved into a sort of lavender-vanilla scent. It’s so elegant, but in an approachable, not pretentious way.

At 9:30, it’s definitely faded, but I can still smell it for sure. So pretty good longevity to boot! I REALLY liked this! In This World is such a unique and endearing fragrance, with both citrus, floral, and creamy notes. I’m not sure if I absolutely must have a full bottle though. I really wish Liis had travel sized options, because I would buy this in a smaller size in a heartbeat!

Gorgeous!

I purchased the Vivid Discovery set, and this was my favorite. Now I want a full bottle! I had been looking for a creamy fig scent similar to Fig P*rn by BORNTOSTANDOUT but I like this much better actually. This begins citrus-y but then the fruity, creamy fig scent comes out. It lasts most of the day for me if I use about 4 or 5 sprays, but then a refresh is potentially needed in the evening. I don't really get "spa" from this scent, but there is definitely a clean/freshness to it with a dash of mysterious herbal woodiness that keeps it interesting. I think this would be best to wear from fall through spring.

Light and fresh

To me this is a citrussey/fig. Very very clean smelling. A bit of sweetness from the citrus (I guess blood orange per the notes. I would definitely say the citrus leans orangey), with some greenness and woodiness from the fig. This is something I would love to wear in the spring. Makes me think of attending a spring wedding.

The special one

Slowly, one might think that we have already smelled every fig fragrance. We know the fig in all its facets and ripeness levels. And we are reaching the point where the fig can no longer be reinvented. But that is exactly what Liis achieves here.

The opening of the fragrance is fresh, almost a little sharp. I am, figuratively speaking, immediately and absolutely "In this World".
The slight sharpness is balanced by a wonderful fruity fig note without creaminess. That alone makes the fragrance special for me.
So far, I have smelled creamy figs and fruit bomb figs. However, this one exists in its own world somewhere in between. The fig is still on the tree, has a fresh green stem, and I can also smell the wood of the branch it hangs from.
I often have issues with fruity scents, but the fruitiness of In this World is very subtle and balanced.
Violet gives it a slight fabric softener vibe in the background. But it is a very subtle fabric softener that does not scratch the nose with synthetic overpowering.
Ultimately, you also get a hint of wellness vibes, which I attribute to the sage. For me, sage always has a relaxing and almost meditative effect, almost like in a spa.

Longevity and sillage are appropriate for the fragrance. It is certainly not a powerhouse, but it caresses you. And for that, I perceive it for quite a long time in the end, at least longer than initially assumed.
The price could be a bit lower in my opinion, but it is still reasonable.
All in all, it can be said: Perfume fans who love fig but would like to experience a different kind of embedding should definitely give this a sniff.
