Uplifting White Tea
I guess I thought from the description that this was going to be even more of a skin scent, like soft musk, but that's not the case. It's energizing, bright and fresh, white tea at its finest. Perfect for spring/summer mornings, like doing sun salutations in liquid form. Or another way, an upscale version of Everything and Nothing by Tokyomilk.

"H/S bad, too expensive"
Oh yes, I often read reviews like this, apparently the ultimate characteristic of a high-quality fragrance is extreme sillage, so that even those in the back of the subway car can still enjoy it. True to the motto "The bigger, the better."

My opinion is a little different. I think there's an occasion for every fragrance.
Do I want to wear a fragrance to really scare people away from the waiting room, to get to the dentist quicker, do I want a fragrance that is easy to smell at a party when you're standing next to me, or do I want a fragrance that maybe just really belongs to me and the people I'm hugging?

Ethereal Wave is definitely one of the latter scents. It has a super intimate and body-hugging sillage, but it also retains this. Durability is therefore good.
When you spray it on, you are first met with a surge of bergamot, which transforms on the skin into a beautiful, light cloud of green jasmine tea, fluffy musk and light wood. As delicate and beautiful as glittering threads dancing in a breeze. That's it. This combination is what the fragrance promises, and that's how it stays.

About the associations: what would I do if I had really, really a lot of money and was feeling upset and stressed? Maybe I'd be in over my head planning the latest annual champagne reception for dachshund owners, or deciding whether to get the latest Porsche in metallic fir green or matt.

I would definitely buy myself a stay at a luxury resort that offers vegan raw food, singing bowl courses and meditation sessions ad nauseam.
The resort is minimalist-chic, wood-clad and green. There are no people to be seen anywhere and mountain monk chanting plays softly in the background. Of course, there is also a spa area. And this spa area is guaranteed to smell like Ethereal Wave. Restrained, elegantly designed and woody.

Unfortunately, I can't afford it, but Ethereal Wave still gives me that meditative feeling.

A little on the nose but...
Is it a little to on the nose to call a tea scent refreshing? Even so I think it's well warranted for Etheral Wave which was gifted to me by Liis.

Ethereal Wave opens with a blast of bergamot, immediately settling into its tea notes after. It is cozy, comforting, evoking visions of you getting ready for a day of self care on a cool autumn morning with your favorite cup of tea.

The cardamom is there, albeit soft, adding just a touch of spice before you get to the woody musk that sits at the base of the fragrance. Like many of the Liis scents I've tried this is a scent that sits intimately close to you but when you're an over sprayer like me well...I got compliments throughout the work day for my first two hours at just walking by people. It lasted on my skin for about four hours but on my clothes well over seven.

For me this is this is for the cottage core aesthetic girlie who wants something bright yet comforting, the office worker who wants to speak before their scent does, or that person having a hard day and just needs a quick sprits of something to uplift their spirits.

Soft citrus white tea
This is very light and pretty and reminds me so much of L'Occitane The Vert - citrus aromatic tea - except maybe slightly less citrus, slightly more sweet, and with a slightly powdery woody edge. I like this better than The Vert, it feels more balanced and more tea, though to me it definitely reads white tea and not black tea. The longevity is actually very good considering the notes and how lightweight it is, but it is a very sheer fragrance and easily got lost among the rest of what I was sniffing and testing. I don't get cardamom or musk either, but honestly the fragrance feels perfect as it is.

I think this is the kind of fragrance you could douse yourself in and it would never feel too much.

Sprayed from the tester bottle at Ministry of Scent in SF on a 75F day. Worn about 10hrs at time of writing.
