The
Armani Privé - Noir Kogane is a fragrance that has the potential to come close to
Armani Privé - Rose d'Arabie or
Armani Privé - Oud Royal.
It is a noble spicy scent based on leather. The fascinating aspect of it is the fine tuning of the individual components. With fragrance notes like saffron, leather, and incense, it is very easy for one of these monsters to quickly fall out of balance and "overpower" the entire scent.
Everything harmonizes.
When you spray it on, it even brings a slight freshness with it. After that, you notice the cumin and pepper, which gently settle on the black leather bed. The leather is already very present as a base but does not overwhelm you. The leather reminds me of that from
Ombré Leather (2018) Eau de Parfum. One could also interpret it as a more complex and spicier version of Ombre.
Despite the spiciness, it remains modern. So it’s not an old-fashioned scent. The sillage, at least at the beginning, is good; despite the DNA, you can also sense a certain lightness. Not that the scent is a freshie, but it doesn’t overwhelm you and comes across with a certain airiness despite the leather and saffron. Still, be careful, for a dark leather scent, it is lighter, but the material still hits hard.
In my opinion, the scent can be worn by younger people, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone under 21, and it should really only be worn in the evening with a dark outfit. You should be a bit of the type for it. The
Armani Privé - Noir Kogane radiates a certain seriousness and stability.
As an evening scent, it is probably best utilized.
The only downside is the price. It is simply too expensive. It smells high-quality, but as long as there is no real oud or sandalwood used, everything over 300 is simply too much in my opinion.
EDIT: It just occurred to me. It smells almost exactly like I imagined the "Tony Iommi Monkey Special | XerJoff" would smell before I could test it. Except that I had swapped the saffron/incense for the rum/mara combo in my head.
So, for those who were disappointed with Tony and want the dirty rockstar after his alcohol withdrawal, this one would be just right.
