Different than expected, but still good.
I have now also added the Orange Flamingo to my collection.
When I tested it for the first time, I was surprised and yet not surprised.
I imagined it in 2 ways.
Since both Herbert's and Marc's ranges are very similar in my opinion and the stickers under the bottle are also very similar, I thought that the DNAs could also be very similar.
I imagined it to be more like 17 Rosso or Giardino di Boboli, only with orange. I thought it had this creamy, silky kind of fabric softener base and then a fruity, juicy orange on top. So creamy and fruity.
The 2nd type I imagined when I read Neroli was a really classic Neroli fresh fragrance.
It became the 2nd type.
Even though I would have liked to have had the 1st version, I was still pleasantly surprised.
It starts directly with a load of fresh neroli and jasmine. It really reminds me of a rather classic fresh fragrance with fabric softener. It then lasts pretty much an hour with the citrusy tart orange note and then goes completely into fabric softener mode and the orange disappears for the most part. Anyone who likes to smell fresh laundry will love this fragrance. And it stays that way. Very single-grade.
The performance is actually quite strong. Wore 2 sprays to work today and left a test strip in our warehouse. Even after 3 hours every time I went into the warehouse I got a thick cloud of Flamingo from 1 meter away. It still smelled like freshly sprayed.
The scent was still very present on me after 5 hours and then it (slowly) started to fade. But it could also be that the nasal numbness slowly set in.
The fragrance DNA smells like it should only last 2 hours, but 2 sprays feel like 5 and easily last 8-12 hours. I also wore a jacket with a collar so it definitely wore off a bit.
I have to say that you are a bit disappointed at first. But the longer you smell it, the better it gets. I don't like very many freshies, so I'm not so easy to convince when it comes to this fragrance. Somehow, though, you can't get enough of the fresh "wash".
This makes it a very successful everyday fragrance for me and possibly the first real freshie that will stay with me.
