Green Screen
It's a gorgeous Saturday morning in spring, and you're unsure of what to do. You're not too bothered, however; you're sure to find plenty of inspiration in your surroundings. True, it's not quite summer yet, but you still deserve a break, and the birds chirp happily in agreement.

As you gaze outside, the bright sky alchemizes memories of your last trip to Italy. You feel as if you're on a movie set. To fuel this feeling, you grab a juicy apple and step out of your villa into your garden. A pleasant breeze, almost like spearmint, accompanies your first bite.

"This must be what heaven is like," you muse lazily, looking around proudly at your garden. You've acquired quite the green thumb within the last year, inspired by your trip to Florence in the breathtaking Giardino di Boboli (Boboli Gardens). While you may not live in the Palazzo Pitti, you brought some of its culture home — you'd made sure to grow plenty of roses and geraniums to gently remind yourself of it, and you could smell them faintly in the breeze.

The juicy smell of that apple, however, is more than faint, and it somehow grows tastier the more you eat it. Spearmint continues to wash over you in waves, with those wisps of rose in the air. You smile and soak it all in: you're surrounded by warmth and greenery, with nothing but sunny days ahead. You think to yourself, "If only there were a fragrance that could capture this ethereal feeling..."

*But there is! Giardino di Boboli — Roberto Ugolini's masterpiece for green and fresh lovers. In my experience with Christian Carbonnel's creations, he knows what he's doing. He captures so many feelings and memories with his creations, and with this one, he has definitely created a green screen.

I'm halfway done with my first bottle and just had to buy a second one. This might just be my absolute favorite fragrance. Every time I wear this, I feel like I've just had the most soothing shower and massage. My pores seem to open up. I just feel ready to take on the day, or ready to take on the hammock. Regardless of what I do next, spraying this perfume takes me on a journey.

Longevity and sillage are top notch to me. I smell it across the room and it lasts the whole day on me.

As a big fan of Roberto Ugolini fragrances, I may be biased, but I think the bottle looks fantastic. The bright green color of the bottle hints at the contents inside. The house name is pressed onto a rather sexy leather label (a fitting touch, as R.U. is a bespoke shoemaker). A genuine ram's horn (used for making shoehorns; another nod to shoe lovers), polished to a wonderful shine, is used as the bottle cap. I'm a sucker for natural lines and variations such as woodgrain, as each piece is different. The same unique concept applies to these ram horn caps.

I love spraying this fragrance on warm days after a fresh shower and a clean shave. I usually pair this with linen and seersucker clothing, often with shorts and loafers.

"B" for Boboli or Bathroom
Well, my dear perfume aficionados, let me take you on a new sensory journey, wrapped in the olfactory garment of the new fragrance by Roberto Ugolini - an aromatic ode to the hidden treasure in the heart of Florence, the majestic Giardino di Boboli.

The top note plays with an original note game that somewhat resembles a pick-me garden. Green leaves and geranium mix cheerfully with a tiny hint of mint. And there, one senses a bold apple. Not a weak, sugary supermarket apple, no, an apple full of defiance and juicy freshness, whose acidity forces the corners of the mouth into involuntary delight. But let us not get too distracted, there is more to discover.

Now, as with every fragrance journey, we must also slowly delve deeper with this perfume. And here, in the heart note, one encounters a jasmine presence that rises like the Florentine Venus from a floral flood of iris and rose. Its scent is meant to be heavy and sweet, the very smell of seduction itself. And it feels as if one is strolling through the avenues of the Boboli Garden, surrounded by the majestic calm of cedarwood and the airy freshness of ozone notes.

Yet what particularly springs to mind during this olfactory tour is the undeniable, almost tangible soapy quality that wafts through the fragrance. It is as if the imaginary Mr. Ugolini whispers to us: "Yes, you are in a Renaissance garden, but remember, the shower is waiting." These synthetic notes form a strange counterpart to the natural aromas, a paradox that is provocatively striking yet astonishing.

The base note finally brings forth the musk and powdery notes that provide a sensual, cozy foundation. Woody notes and amber mix beneath, rather subtle and cautious. One could say they act like an echo of the past fragrance notes, without pushing themselves too much into the foreground.

So let us summarize: "Giardino di Boboli" by Roberto Ugolini is a somewhat surprising fragrance that captures both the natural freshness of a garden and the synthetic purity of a shower gel. A paradox? Certainly. But in the world of fragrances, it is precisely the contradictions that fascinate and captivate us.

At first, it didn't work out for us and later neither, but slowly it's becoming ... / + my personal opinion on why I like it now....
Hello everyone,

today at a really late hour I want to share something with you, and it's about Giardino di Boboli.

I tested it directly 1 or 2 weeks after it became available and again around the turn of the year and also now (recently).

What do we have here?

In short, it can be said = a clean man scent. But of course, there is much, much more to discover, and we have here "certain parallels" (and moments) to fragrances we know.

In the top note, there is a "battle" between Head & Shoulders apple and Greenley, which is very, very pleasant and will hardly annoy anyone....

Now let's move on to the heart note, and this area / this phase feels very classic WITHOUT BEING OLD! I recognize here "just by composition" the "Casamorati - Mefisto | XerJoff". This phase reminds me of the glorious old times of CHANEL (Rose, Iris, Jasmine).

Then it ends creamy and very clean (freshly washed), like a mix of Greenley + L'Homme (in a nicer way).

How is it received?

I've mentioned it several times. I've never bought a fragrance because of feedback or to "make a good impression" (with it), that's not my style. But here, I soon find it hard to let go of this mindset. Because really, every time I wear it at work, I get to hear at least 3 to 8 times a day, "Benny, you smell really great today, clean, fresh..... really fitting." And I'm honest, these constant words do something to you....

In short, the feedback is top!
And that for a clean man scent!
(It does what it’s supposed to do damn well - clean, fresh. It’s not a date fragrance or anything, BUT most women really like it when a man smells clean and well-groomed, and that's exactly what it does!)

I needed 3 tries and will soon get a backup bottle!

Retail price + cap + bottle = really good overall and an above-average quality (as always with the brand).

If I really weren't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!
(It’s worth a test!)

And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny

Performance Monster
Giardino di Boboli is already somewhat hyped on social media. Not a typical hype fragrance, but you often find it in the top lists of some people when it comes to fresh spring and summer scents. It might not mean much, but fragrances that are in the spotlight are worth checking out. I bought this fragrance a few months ago, specifically because I was looking for a good fresh spring scent with good longevity. In my opinion, the MSRP of €220 is clearly too high, but it can be found much cheaper if you have a bit of patience for discounts. I really like the brand Roberto Ugolini by Herbert Stricker, and with Marzocco, Blue Suede Shoes, and 17 Rosso, this is already my fourth. This brand is worth it.
During my time on Parfumo, I often received inquiries about fresh scents with long-lasting power. It was actually question number 1. Of course, people are often disappointed that a fresh scent sometimes only lasts 2-3 hours. It's not easy to make a fresh scent long-lasting without synthetics. This fragrance is definitely a beast, but it's not for everyone. This scent is quite a showstopper, somewhat penetrating and very intense. There is also a bit of synthetic quality to it. In the statements, there is a lot of criticism, which also receives agreement. Giardino di Boboli is definitely not a fragrance you should buy blindly.

Giardino di Boboli, or in German Boboli-Garten, is a park in Florence. If you Google it, you will find many beautiful pictures. It would certainly be worth a visit if you are ever in that city. Even though I haven't been there yet, this fragrance is certainly not an authentic scent that reflects this theme. You get a fragrance that matches this wonderful green bottle. It leans towards a toxic green and has, like all, a great horn cap. The fragrance comes in the usual orange packaging.
Which direction does this fragrance take? The fragrance directions shown above capture it very well: floral, fresh, green, fruity, and also synthetic. In my opinion, this fragrance also bears a slight resemblance to Marc Gebauer's Orange Flamingo, especially in the later stages.
The fragrance starts with a lot of green apple, very unsweetened and with a great tart apple note. Green notes come in that are quite intense and pleasant and fit well with this theme. The geranium is also noticeable in the first hour. A note that delivers a beautiful floral freshness. As it develops, rose takes the lead, and it’s just a wonderful blend with the apple and the green notes. A bit of iris also plays a role, along with some woody notes. The floral part is really well done and remains quite unisex, especially due to the green freshness. By hours 3-4, a wonderful fabric softener vibe comes in. Clean, fresh, and pleasant. A nice musk note that comes across as powdery and clean. Also, some nice light wood comes through well at the end. Overall, a very pleasing fragrance in the second half. The first hours could be quite challenging for some, also due to the very good sillage.
Performance is, as mentioned, very good and probably the recipe for success of this fragrance. Longevity is double-digit, and the sillage is strong for many hours.

Overall, a great fresh fragrance that doesn't necessarily drift into the typical no-brainer category. In my opinion, it is best suited for spring and not too hot summer days. It’s not refreshing enough for the real summer. A great fragrance, especially thanks to this performance.

The Green Apple for Summer
In search of a spring-summer fragrance, one often encounters citrus scents that quickly lose their spirit or fruity cocktails that have plenty of staying power but are overly sweet.
Yes, and here it is at last, the summer
scent that is fruity, not too sweet, and has the endurance to carry you through a warm summer day.
The apple carries the scent throughout its entire duration and is always present, already a highlight among fresh summer fragrances for me.
The longevity is above average for a summer fragrance, and you can constantly smell it, not just in the first few hours-truly a very pleasing and long-lasting scent.

Metallic geranium overload / soapy rose + violet / musky apple. Starts heavy on the florals, not fresh. Good performance.

I can't make sense of this quirky apple-rose combination. Unpleasantly sharp and synthetic. Toxic like the color of the bottle.

A fruity apple, green-soapy (summer) scent between the playful lightness of Orange Flamingo & the clean elegance of Avenue Montaigne.

Pungent, synthetic, overwhelming.
A connection to a cyborg crushing an apple, who also innovatively sweats.

Melting mint poured over apple-green leaves, with a little rose here, an iris there: a light-fresh garden in the morning dew.
