Velvety soft, cozy and soothing blend
The opening is strongly herbal and aromatic, a little bit sharp as well and it fits well with the structure of the fragrance. Still, I'm happy that the scent evolves quite quickly into the heart notes because I'm not a huge fan of Lavender. Spices in the opening are very gentle. Patchouli is made like in Les Nuits de Marrakech - it's not that dark, earthy, aggressive one which is familiar from many perfumes. It's soft and subtle. It's very difficult not to love this scent if you are thinking the base, those notes together can't disappoint you if they are well done - like they are here. Oud Kasbah Royal is velvety soft, absolutely cozy and soothing blend. It's mellow and round, Mimosa and Vanilla creating a deep unique aroma which is more intense than the overall ambery touch here or Western style Oud which stays all the time in the background maintaining anyway an interesting combination with Mimosa. Oud performs a bit stronger on my husband's skin. Yet, this is not totally safe because of Mimosa here - even if it's not overly strong. Imo this scent is perfect in colder climates, some may think it's cloying in hot. It's totally unisex and office safe despite of Oud. Again one full bottle worthy from Marrakech Imperial.

TOP: Davana, Coriander, Cardamom, Lavender HEART: Mimosa, Atlas cedar wood, Patchouly, Amber
BASE: Oud, Tonka beans, Vanilla, Musk

This review is based on the sample and I will wrote more details after having a full bottle.

The Oud-Infused Allrounder
I have rarely smelled such a unique allrounder! Normally, such allrounders are designed to be extremely pleasing, mostly fresh, and therefore often unspectacular. But exceptions confirm the rule.

I got to know Marrakech Imperial this year at Zhor during the Esxence. Thankfully, I received a Discovery Set with my purchase of Overdose, and I can tell you, it's worth it!
Oud Kasbah Royal is essentially an oriental fragrance that comes with a certain depth and oud-like elements. However, for me, there is also a strong lavender note present in this fragrance, which adds a floral aspect. This allows the scent to emerge from the dark depths and builds a bridge to a certain lightness.
One could draw slight similarities to "DesirToxic L'Intense | M. Micallef," although without an overly pronounced sweetness.

As the fragrance develops, the oud component, which is neither medicinal nor animalistic, recedes a bit, and the fresh and floral notes come more to the forefront, remaining so until the end.

For this reason, this fragrance is extremely versatile for me. Of course, one can debate whether this fragrance can be worn in the height of summer. However, I increasingly notice the tendency towards stronger scents in hot temperatures (example "Erba Pura | XerJoff").
All in all, Oud Kasbah Royal is one of the outstanding releases of 2024 that everyone should at least try.

Everything is a Matter of Harmony
When I saw the fragrance notes of this perfume, I knew I had to test it. I love oud in various facets, and ambered scents have often captivated me. Then there's the already mentioned fougère touch... That sounded really exciting. And what can I say? I was absolutely not disappointed!
At the beginning, but really only for about 1-2 minutes, I get a very light, but not unpleasant animalic note. After that, the oud forms the woody base for a perfectly harmonized interplay of the other fragrance notes. At first, I mainly get cardamom spice and floral-herbaceous notes. As the scent develops, it becomes resinous and increasingly sweet without becoming too heavy. It feels as if the different notes are constantly complementing each other while also holding back, allowing each to present its most beautiful side within the overall composition. A truly wonderfully crafted fragrance!

This is the kind of oriental that Maurice knows how to do really well. Excellent balance that never ends up in the banal, really elegant

I let myself be seduced
by the delicate lavender
by spices and amber
woody, lightly earthy
oud, not too strong and easy to wear.

Powerful cardamom surrounded by vibrant flowers, on friendly patchouli and tame plant oud. Becomes woodier.

In a room, so contemporary,
where art and life gently merge,
lies amber, warm and golden,
a treasure that tells stories.

Wow! The dry tonka bean makes the scent very smooth. The oud is never too much. I also get iris and cardamom.

Amber, so refined and elegant.
Slightly smoky resins, nostalgic & masculine.
Cardamom brings a cool breeze, lavender so alluring.

An extremely beautiful oud scent that isn't animalistic or medicinal. For me, it's more of a fougere, gentleman vibe.
